The Ace of Cakes
The Ace of Cakes
If you're a food junkie and often find yourself checking out the Food Network as you're channel surfing, then you've probably seen a show called Ace of Cakes. Duff Goldman is the Baker/Owner of Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, Maryland, and he and his Team create some of the most amazing cakes I've seen.
So, what does Duff have to do with Southwest Airlines? Well, back in May when we were planning our Spirit Party at Camden Yards in Baltimore, one of our Customer Service Agents, Lisa, thought it would be cool to see if Duff and Team could reproduce our unique Maryland One plane
with batter and icing. To make a long story short, Duff and his Team came through with 'flying' colors (red, white, yellow, and black, to be exact). ![]()
The true "icing on the cake" was that Duff himself delivered the cake to the party! The Ace of Cakes film crew was on hand to interview our very own Marilee McInnis, and the big reveal aired last Thursday. The episode is titled, "Wishes Granted" and also has another great story about how Duff and his Team made a little girl's Make-a-Wish Foundation dream come true by inviting her to join them in the bakery.
If you missed the show last week, check out the Food Network's website for additional air times.

I LUV the Maryland One plane! Now all I need to do is see it in person.
The Maryland One Cake turned out beautiful. As a fan of both "Ace of Cakes" and Southwest Airlines, I was glad to see you collaborating for the show.
I have been waiting to see the show since it was filmed in May so I was very excited to see it last week! The cake was beautiful. And it tasted good, too!
That cake ought to be preserved somehow and put on display at HDQ. It's too neat to eat.
My daughter and I love your show.We love Duff's laugh most of all.He sooooooooo makes us smile!
I LOVE BOBBY BARGER
I LOVE BOBBY BARGER FOR LIFE!!!!! and this cake rocks my socks
As of right now, there is a 5 minute, 33 second portion of the show about this online, under videos.
Everyone at Charm City Cakes rock. You are awesomely talented and I admire Duff
Goldman for always knowing how to make things better in "crisis " situations.
