Back to Work - The Sequel
Back to Work - The Sequel
The "gift" of feedback...one of the greatest gifts someone can receive is the gift of truthful candor. A friend of mine likes to say, "we all need 'grace and truth' but remember 'grace' comes first for a reason." Throughout the year, I have received my share of 'undeserved favor'...that is grace, and thankfully my share of LUVing truth. This blog has been a blessing in both of these areas. In particular, one of the longest running threads, "Back to Work" has given our Recruiting Team real insight into the questions, hopes, and dreams of the People applying to work at Southwest Airlines. As our small gift back to those trying to work here, our Recruiting Team will monitor this new blog thread and periodically respond directly to questions. They will try to anticipate questions and leave a tip or two that might make the application process seem less like a process. My thanks to all of you for giving all of us in the People Department at Southwest Airlines the gift of feedback.

Wow. Who knew that post had active commentary for the entire year? The blog desperately needs a way to subscribe and be notified of new comments to posts.
I submitted an online resume for the Flight Attendant position last May and waited eagerly the rest of the year for a response. A Southwest Flight Attendant had also submitted an internal reference for me in June, but I still heard nothing back. I'm currently a Flight Attendant for another airline, but I want to work for Southwest Airlines more than anything else in the world. I've read the entire website, read NUTS! twice, researched everything I could find on the internet about Southwest and even Netflixed the first season of Airline.
I tell other Flight Attendants that they should apply at Southwest and how I applied at Southwest, but haven't heard anything back yet. Some of them say things like, "There are other airlines hiring right now. I have a friend who just applied at Suchandsuch Airlines. You should apply there." I always have the same answer for them. I tell them I'll just wait to hear something from Southwest. There's no other airline I want to work for. Southwest is the best.
Once you're accepting resumes again for the Flight Attendant position I'll apply again, and again, and again.... I just have this feeling inside that Southwest is the best place for me. And I'm going to do whatever it takes to show that I'm the best person for Southwest. I'm already doing my part to spread the LUV.
James,
Thank you so much for your interest in joining the Southwest Airlines family as a Flight Attendant! As you can imagine, the Flight Attendant position is one of our most popular that people apply for Ã
Wow... This is an interesting site and I would venture to say that very few airlines have the openness to have an open submission site like this. I have been looking at South West Airlines for a while now, and have submitted a resume electronically online. I am an Aircraft Mechanic with 10+ years of 737 Experience. I am more interested in BWI. Is there anyway that I can contact the Base Maintenance Manager there directly either by email or phone line directly. I am looking primarily for Line Maintenance A&P and or Avionics (Previously Cat II/IIIa certified with other airline).
You are welcome Jeff!
Ding! boy and appearance tech "poolie" for mdw.

How bizarre - This morning I submitted my first ever application to Southwest, and mere moments later Jeff Lamb submits this topic to the Southwest Blog.
Karma? Kismet? Pure blind chance?
Maybe none or all of the above. But you can be sure I will bookmark this topic to continue reading after it rolls off the front page.
What Shari P. didn't answer is why James never received an answer to his resume - would have been nice to know all the positions had been filled...
On another note, I don't understand why Southwest has gone to the expense of placing the new gate posts where people still have to line up like cattle. Why can't people get assigned seats when they purchase their tickets? Take off time is not any faster than other airlines that provide assigned seating. This method may have made sense when Southwest first started - don't know. But, Southwest may be missing its marketing edge by persisting in this area...
Hi John ,
Thank you for your positive feedback about our blog and your interest in helping us maintain our fabulous fleet of 737's. At this time we do not have any openings at our BWI Mechanic base, but I would love for you to email me your resume so we can talk to you about future openings or different locations ....just in case you ever get the urge to move about the country. You can email me at amy.webb@wnco.com. I look forward to hearing from you, and again we appreciate your interest in joining our family !
I don't believe this is necessarily the correct place to post the following comment, but it wasn't easy finding a way to post a comment on this blog.
Southwest Airlines is getting away from some of the small, but key things that helped make it the country's #1 airline. First, they changed their policy on re-booking. No longer, if you got out of your meeting and to the airport a bit early, could you catch an earlier flight. Now you must pay the fare difference, which is often substantial if you booked far in advance.
More recently, they've changed the way we board, which isn't a huge deal, but it wasn't broke, so why'd they fix it? Also, what's with Business Select? All it is is a fare comprable in price to the legacy airlines.
Finally, I learned today that it will no longer be free to check a third bag. Granted, I never check that many bags, but it seems as thought Southwest Airlines is trying hard to get away from all of the things that have set it apart from the other terrible airlines for so long.
Stop trying to be like the other Airlines, for so long you were doing a great job and now you're veering of course!
Sadly, I've never been very graceful! I'm a girl who knows what she wants, and truth be told, I've never interviewed for a job without getting an offer. I'm humbled - truly.
I'm now moving on to greener pastures - a position at a very respected firm in the field. Everything DOES happen for a reason. ;-) (Even if it makes me cry like I just got dumped by my boyfriend).
"Never apologize for showing feeling. When you do so, you apologize for the truth. " - Benjamin Disraeli
Happy Trails - and good luck!
Jim - I'm not sure it was Karma but I am glad you applied online at www.southwest.com. I am also excited to have a convenient way for our Recruiting Team to communicate with you.
Thanks for your comments and best of luck!
Jeff
Hey, I never thought i'd have the urge to rave about an airline (you always hear the bad stuff) but the customer service you at Southwest have is outstanding. Back in December an accident in Providence shut down the airport i was supposed to fly out of. I called up southwest customer service, asked to be moved to a flight out of a different airport for the next morning, and it was done. 2 minutes on the phone! I was blown away at how easy it was! The next day i had to call and push my flight back 2 more times because the extreme cold kept causing my various modes of transport to break down, and once again 2 minutes, boom, done! After dealing with other airlines I never imagined i'd ever encounter one with this level of service. Thanks a bunch!
I'm not a blogger. Yikes, probably on the wrong place to post this. But I've been flying Southwest for years and am constantly surprised by the great customer service. On New Year's Day, our flight was delayed by 2+ hours out of Chicago. No big deal to us, there was lots of snow, so cleary it was no one's fault. But the Flight Attendants at Southwest went out of their way to apologize for the delay and make us feel special on the flight. What amazing customer service we got. Way to go Southwest!!!
Dear Mike G.
SW has always charged the difference between the fare you paid and the walk-up fare to leave on an earlier flight whether it is confirmed space or as a standbye passenger. Think of it like a concert or movie ticket. You have purchased a ticket at an agreed upon price for a specific flight. If you tried to attend an earlier movie or concert your ticket would not be valid for that performance. This policy makes it possible for our airline to position the fleet in a cost effective manner providing our passengers the best pricing for our product at the least expense. SW does not charge the typical $100 change fee to confirm a ticket exchange, and we allow the passenger to use their unused funds if their travel plans change. Those funds are available for up to a year from the time of purchase. Most other airlines keep all the passenger ticket price if you do not travel as planned. Just thought that a little perspective on pricing practices would help everyone understand why we can offer the lowest fares and the most seats at those fares!
one of the happiest days of my life, getting my picture taken for my SWA badge and being issued my employee number. With that badge, so many things are possible! My family and I have excellent benefits. we travel all over this great country and i work with some of the greatest people.
I think most Employees here would agree that that day was one of their happiest. I love to look at the picture on my badge and remember that feeling. I hope all of our Employees never forget how excited they were their first day here! I just had my 7th SWA birthday (Jan 2) and as always, SWA sent me a birthday/anniversary card. It's so nice to be remembered. Heck, sometimes my own family forgets my real birthday...but not SWA!
Now, when i retire someday, that might be my happiest and most saddest day at the same time...i'll let ya know in about 25-30 years lol.
Dear Mike G...
Another fact- Out of 100% of SW passengers, only 2% checked 3 bags. Most of our passengers only had 1 or 2. Our new bag policy charges only $25 for a 3rd bag, while other airlines charge $50 and up. Also. we have the BEST customer service out there.
What a great treasure this site is! As someone who just submitted an online resume last week for an inflight supervisor position here in Chicago, it's wonderful to read such positive stories from members and soon-to-be members of the Southwest Family. I do have a few questions for anyone who might perhaps have some of the answers. First, if a position is listed on SWA's site as 'hiring' what is the usual time frame in which someone gets back to a candidate if they are interested in them? It's like sitting by the phone hoping your dream date will call!!! I've never felt this excitement about a potential job before! Second and last question - is it wise to put in for another position at the same time to maximize the possibility of an interview, or is it just better to sit back and be patient? Thanks!
I've been reading this blog posting (and the previous) with great interest. I have a group interview at CMH on Thursday for a CSA and I'm very excited!
I was a huge fan of Airline on A&E and Southwest in general (some of my best flights have been on Southwest). The enthusiasm exuded by the staff is simply contagious, and I believe I would fit in perfectly.
Trying to learn everything I can, I've been reading "Lessons in Loyalty," written by a former Southwest People University trainer, this blog and everything in between.
Hopefully I'll meet some of you others who have been posting here at the airport on Thursday!
-Eric
I think my biggest wish in the hiring process would be the opportunity to sit down with a real, live person with the People department and have a short discussion regarding my resume' and where I could fit in the SWA family.
My current career path wouldn't qualify me for the airport group interviews, which makes a face-to-face meeting that much harder to come by. I'd gladly take time off work and fly to DAL (with a stop on the way until 2014) just for ten minutes with the People department.
I realize that it sounds like American Idol or one of countless other reality shows, but if I am asked to sing, dance, or tell jokes during my ten minutes, I will oblige!
i sent in my resume for one particular job posting, and SWA called me on another position. I did not get that job, but the original position i sent in for i did get. remember here, we hire for the person/attitude, train for the skills. i did not have any background in aviation. i had leadership skills and customer service skills and a great attitude. of course it helps if you know some about the industry, but it's not going to keep you from getting a position....that depends obviously on the position you are applying/interviewing for. mechanics and pilots should know alot!!!! lol. but you catch my drift right? there is alot of pride in our brand. and to this day, i'm still very proud to say i work for Southwest Airlines.
Tamra,
Happy 7th!
I'm glad you like your job so much. I am looking forward to the time when I get my turn.
Thank you for your part in keeping the planes safe and in good repair.

I have been flying on Southwest since you came to BWI and I could only fly to Cleveland! ( I did, for $19).. I used to like the cattle call. But too many people use uncanny methods to cheat and beat the system... ( Like the allegedly disabled who lie to get early boarding).....
And your new boarding procedures are really a step in the wrong direction.
I used to (purposely) arrive one and a half to two hours before flight time and sit on the floor so I would be the first on the plane. Now I can't do that any more.... Even though I check in on-line for a boarding pass ten seconds after
24 hours prior to flight time, I get number 20 or 30..... And people with a lower number who arrive after me get on first....
THE TIME HAS ARRIVED FOR YOU TO GO TO ASSIGNED SEATING!!!!!!!
BE FAIR!!!!!!
I will take my window seat at 5A, please...
Thanks!
I have never seen anything like the chaos at LAX for cases coming off the carousels that SW must have bought from a 3rd world country, the damage to cases was unbelievable and the line to report lost and damaged cases was longer than anything this traveller has ever experienced. Once at the head of the line the disinterest of SW staff was also incredible and to cap it all the helpline number is not answered. No compensation has been offered, take my advice.....boycott Southwest and save your sanity.
Oh and if you do have to contact them it can only be done in writing or phone, they do not have a facility to contact them directly on their website.
REMEMBER, SOUTHWEST AIR......WE CARE LESS!
Carol,
I had to chuckle when I ready your line, Ã
Hi Shari, OK, Perhaps 'Dream Date' was slightly dramatic (LOL) but you get my drift!! Thank you for your response and your patience. I think there are many of us who are out there who see that 'perfect job' pop up on Southwest's career page and just get that Aha! feeling. It's a lot like househunting. You can look at lots of houses or just a couple but when that perfect house comes along, you can actually picture your family and furniture in it. So, at least in MY mind, I've gone through the whole hiring/interview process and I'm already out there at Midway working and LUVing being part of the Southwest family! I'm just waiting for you all to catch up!
Have a great evening!
Carol
Dear Jeff,
Your company does a very poor job of tracking your customers. In the last month I have flown to Las Vegas and SW had no Frequent Flier miles listed. In the same month (December) I cancelled a flight to Phoenix and asked that I use it this month (Jan.) I had the days and times of the flights to convey to the airline specials but it took forever. I tried to convert it to a flight this weekend to Ind. but to no avail. I will spend more time tomorrow on the phone explaning the $$$ change to someone to try to get it right. My Frequent Flyer # is worthless! Whatever happened to the good old days of Southwest?
Dr. Chamberlin
Im so glad I found this site. Im one of many thousands of people trying to work for the best Airlines in the country. Going back to November 10 of last year, I went to the Southwest's Ramp Agent Hiring Sessions at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas. I remember smiling a lot because after the I got interviewed, the nice lady Recruiter recommended me so I went to the airport's SWA office and got my finger printed. A week passed by and I got drug tested. A few weeks later I got an email from the SWA Employment Coordinator asking me if I can make it on December 13,2007 for paperwork signing so I can start Dec.31,2007. I went to the paperwork signing, signed papers and got my picture taken for SWA Badge and they talked to us about the benefits.
Two weeks on the 28th of last month, I got a call from a Training Supervisor informing me about TSA doing a background check on me. She told me that she would call me back a week later. I guess she must be busy so I didn't get a call back. I know the trainers are working hard to get me a start date that I was offered originally. I appreciate their hard work and that they do not try to inconvenience anyone. I will call her tomorow.
My question is how long does the TSA background check process take? I read that TSA are using a new policy of background check. Im wondering at this point in the game where I am? Working as a Ramp Agent for Southwest is a dream. I want the job so Im hoping that I would get that call that Im cleared to work and the Training Supervisor will tell me the time and where to report for Badging and Training Class. Im very confident that I will be a work horse and be a valuable asset to the company. I would appreciate any other tip or info. Im very excited and eager to work and I look forward to finally being to sleep well. I cant sleep, blame the wait time, lol. Happy New Year to all and thank you for the tips and the respond to my question.
Dr. Chamberlain,
Thanks for your comments, and I am so sorry that we have disappointed you lately. I hope you understand that Jeff's area of expertise lies elsewhere, but as an Officer of SWA, he wants to ensure your satisfaction. I have asked our Rapid Rewards experts to followup with you.
Brian
I noticed now your "business select "isn't going too well because now you are offering a rebate to those with Southwest Visa Cards to reduce the total fare. I predicted you would see a bottom line loss because of this change in boarding policy and apparently this is happening.
I also notice that you are saving the lower numbers for these business fares which often do not show up so sometimes the last folks to get their on line boarding passes sometimes get a lower number that was saved but not used.
I know of no one who pays more to board first and a lot of companies are not going to allow their employees to pay more just so they can get on ahead of the bulk of your customers.
Your management just irritatated most of the common folks who made your airline great and it is really sad. I would hope you would now either assign seats or go back to the "cattle call" that rewarded people who got their boarding passes first. Under current policy. the little guys, middle America folks who were your best customers are now pushed to "the back of the bus"
Please take a poll and you will see what a mistake you made. But then, management never admits a wrong for fear of losing the respect of your stockholders. The spin you put on the new boarding procedure doesn't wash.
And my comments are coming from a person who can well afford your " Business Select" debacle.Raise the fares if you must but make the boarding procedure fair for all , or just put first class seats in.
Any chance you could give us a couple of handy tips for interviewing for a flight attendant position and what to expect? Anything good ole tip will do.

Roel,
First of all, congratulations on your position in LAS! We are excited to have you com onboard Southwest Airlines. You are correct in that all airports are required to conduct an additional security check prior to issuing an airport badge to have access to secure areas of the airport. Unfortunately, each airport is conducting this assessment process differently across the country. That being said, the timeframes are different as to when you will hear back from them. We ask that you remain patient and we will keep our finger crossed that it will be soon! Good Luck!
I read through a few of these comments, namely John's, who is also a mechanic. From the many A&P's I know and work with, Southwest seems to be the oasis in the desert. at least for those that want to stay with airline work. The big thing that catches my eye is the attitude and atmosphere I hear so much about. I've been with a regional carrier for just over 18 months ( 7 years on helicopters in the Army) and realize the number of mechanics with much more experience that send resumes in must be great. I love working on aircraft because I learn something new almost every day and am constantly looking for a place where people have the same attitude. Mainly, i'm writing this looking for insight not only from the People Dept, but any other A&Ps that see this as well.
Also notice that in the last few months some of the requirements for mechanics changed. Like 2 years minimum on 737s changed to 2 years on aircraft 12,500 lbs or more. What was the reasoning for that? I wouldn't think there's a shortage of mechanics with 737 experience.
Take care
Hello ItÃ
Jeffrey,
Great questions regarding our pool process, so let me try to clarify. Once you have been successful through the interview process and have passed all of the background screenings, you are placed in a pool. The pool is created so that when a Station or Department calls the People Department and requests to fill a position, we have candidates ready to go. So the length of time that someone is in the pool could vary depending on the hiring needs of the Station. As far as how many people are in the pool at the same time also varies depending on the size of the Station. Our larger Stations will have bigger pools, and are smaller stations wonÃ

Shari thanks for your help.
Hope I can join your team soon.
Thanks again Jeffrey
Jeffrey thanks for asking what I am have been wondering and Shari I really appreciate you posting a response. I have been waiting for a CSA position at SFO. I dread calling Michelle in the near future to see what the status is for it has gone from I'll hear something before Christmas to now maybe in February. I have gone through this process since October based upon they were hiring. Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket ( I did). I really wanted to work for Southwest and still do believe that I am a fit but this has become very discourgaging since I thought SFO had the need for CSA's. The previous blog and this one is a great information tool for all thanks SW and best of luck to the other applicants.

Thanks so much for your post, and for your service to our Country ! I love the description of Southwest as the "oasis in the desert" ! We are so fortunate to have something special here that is hard to describe. It's truly a great big family of folks who love what they do and care about the People they work with. I did some research and it looks like our requirements have not changed recently. We do require our A&P Mechanics to have 2 years of experience on aircraft of 12, 500 lbs or more as you correctly stated. While having 737 experience might help someone be competitive for our open positions, we have not required it to my knowledge. Feel free to email me if you have any other questions. I would be happy to talk with you about the opportunity to join our great Team of what we think are the best Mechanics on the planet :)

Something I did later after my last interview (a one-on-one) in November 2006 was I wrote down questions that I might be asked if I interview (one-on-one) again, & the answers. That way, if I'm presented with those questions, I'll be ready! Obviously, I won't bring them with me! I think back to answers I gave & felt later I could have given better ones; I've had other experiences since then, so I have different answers to give.

Hi Leah - you crack me up with your "facts/thoughts of the day" and "jokes." I have been reading the blog entries as thoroughly as ever, just haven't had a chance to respond recently. I'm still holding out for a position with SWA, are you still doing the same? Somebody would have to be NUTS to not hire either one of us very soon! My one-year waiting period for a CSA position at BNA is coming to an end soon, and I'm so excited to be able to apply for that position once again. I've already applied for RA, OA, and PA too. Take care!
Hi, Jill! Thanks. :) I've not yet resubmitted my resumÃ
I was just looking at the Careers Section & saw you're hiring for CSA's in TUL, which is where I live! :) I'd LUV to reapply & work here, but I'm waiting for the right time. Really, though, I'd go wherever I'm needed! I'm flexible, believe me. :) This is the first time I've seen the Company hiring in TUL.; I have dear friends who work at the TUL Station, too. Also, I thought one of my friends here said TUL is more for Senior employees.

Hello hello hello!! So glad I found this blog. I was just on the career website and it said check back at the beginning of the year to be able to post a resume to become a flight attendant. Do you have any idea how I can submit my resume for the web site is still not taking resumes?
Thanks,

Oh, Ding! boy-didn't you mean TUL, not TUS? :)
Thought for the day: I wonder what the ZIP stands for in ZIP Code.
SWA LUV! :)
Yes,
I meant Tul. Good catch.
Anna,
Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and interest in joining our Southwest family as a Flight Attendant. We are still not accepting resumes for the position due to the number of People in our pool. We want your interview experience to be the best that it can be, and we hate to have you go through the interview process and then if selected wait a really long time for class. We are always reviewing our numbers and balancing that with the hiring needs of the Company, so please continue to check back with us at southwest.com. We truly appreciate your patience, and look forward to the time we can meet with you and discuss this great career oppportunity!

Hello, It's James again. I was under the assumption that resumes were defunct after 6 months. At least, that's the way it is at most other airlines. If I submitted my FA resume (I only submitted one for some stupid reason) in May, is there a chance that I am still in the pool? Also, how long does an internal reference stay on file?
Thanx,
James
Leah asks, "I wonder what the ZIP stands for in ZIP Code."
You are thinking of Ming Chan's acronym thread Leah.
ZIP - well, sometimes people think ZIP stands for Zero Intelligent People. But over the past two years I have worked with a company that does a LOT of direct mail and the postal service is really in truly top notch.
ZIP = Zone Improvement Plan. The entire ZIP Code history and usage is actually fascinating. My first "lesson" about mail and ZIP Codes was to read the Wikipedia article - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zip_code
The guy in ZIP Code 79922 wrote, "Ming ChanÃ

SWA LUV! :)
To "Shari Perez - Sr." - Great info in the "Interviewing Tips 101", Really great info. Would like to see more of this type of info.
Quite honestly, in the first section under "Don't Panic"... Well, when you are looking at Life Changing events for yourself in an enviroment to where you may be moving away from you home to many states away, and some where that you want to spend the rest of your carrier working days... Those are hard decision, and sometimes "panic!" and "Anxiety" are hard items to control in an interview, and I think that any decent person applying for a carrier (not just a job) is going to have a certain amount of neviousness about that. After all, the person conducting the Interview in many cases has alot of our lives in there hands.
Please post more advice. It is well received and appreciated. It is good to see management posting that sort of information to those of us who are interested in spending a good portion of our lives with SouthWest Airlines. I know that I am active seeking your company, and I must say that I feel that I am a very qualified person (sorry tooting my own horn), and I do not mind saying that I am also quite nervous about it, even though I am very confident that it is the correct decision to make... I only hope that SouthWest feels the same about me when I complete the Interview and Testing processes.
Hi Everyone!
It has been a little while since my last post. I always come here to read Leah's posts, knowing I will get a laugh. Thank you Jeff for keeping this blog going; it is very informative.
I have a couple questions that maybe someone can answer: I interviewed with the Aircraft Maintenance Department last July and felt it did not go so well. This was due to my mother-in-law's cancer diagnosis just before the interview. My mind was preoccupied and I did not answer some of the questions thoroughly.
Since I wasn't selected for the position, can I apply for other positions in the same department or do I have to wait twelve months to re-apply? I have submitted my resume for several other positions within the department but haven't heard anything.
Also, I have wanted to follow up with a phone call to the super awesome person in the People Department who interviewed me over the phone and also in person. Do you think a call would just interrupt her busy day or would it show I am still interested in working for the best airline this country has to offer?
Also, thanks for the increased service in DEN! Even though I currently work for another airline, my family has flown more on Southwest than with pass travel with my company...you can't beat the good service, friendly employees, and great prices on SWA! As my kids say, "Southwest ROCKS!"
Thanks, Mike! :) I'm sorry you felt your interview didn't go well, & about your mother-in-law. :( I know from experience it's disappointing not to be selected. We just have to keep trying!
To answer your first question, I'm not really sure. I'm glad you've applied for other positions & I hope you hear something good soon! To answer your second one, I think it'd be okay to call. How long has it been since you interviewed? I've called before after I waited a few weeks. Please keep us posted!
Thought for the day: Do people on the TV still talk when you turn it off?
SWA LUV! :)
Thank you, Leah, for the kind words. My mother-in-law is doing better, which is a huge relief for the entire family. The prognosis seven months ago was that she had six months at the most. She is beating the odds! She is so much like my mom; we are very close.
It was disappointing not being selected; however, like you, I am not one to give up. I continue to send my resume for the different positions that open up, but havenÃ
Months of patience and pulling out my hair. I have orientation January 25, 08 and start as a CSA at SFO January 29, 08. I've had many happy moments in life and this new beginning ranks high with the rest of my joyous moments. Thanks SWA for the opportunity
Good luck to other applicants!

You're welcome, Mike! I'm glad your mother-in-law is doing better. :)
Surely you didn't leave a bad impression! I highly doubt you did. What are some other positions you've applied for?
I'll have to think of an answer to your thought for the day!
Joke for the day: What did one pair of scissors say to the other? Cut it out! Ha, ha. I made that up by my very own self!
SWA LUV! :)
Mike,
I join Leah in saying that I am very glad to hear that your mother in law is doing well. The answer to your question is "Yes", you can continue to apply for other positions at Southwest and within the Maintenance Department. We only ask that you wait a year to re-apply for the same position. I am sorry to hear that you did not feel like things went well in your first interview. We are honored by your continued interest in working for Southwest, and my guess is that another candidate was just simply more competitive at that time. We want to do our best to match you up to the right position and Team, and I am sorry that last time things didnt work out the way you had hoped. Please continue to apply when you see jobs that you are interested in, and feel free to email me so I can get you in touch with the Recruiter who interviewed you. I am confident they would love to hear from you, and it would certainly not be an interruption. My email is amy.webb@wnco.com. Thanks again for being interested in joining our FunLuving family here at SWA ! And Thanks to your folks for flying SWA :) We truly appreciate you and their business!
Mike, I misunderstood your first question. I read Amy's response & understand now what you mean. That was my goof! Yes, I've applied before for different careers there, too.
Thought for the day: Since there is a pop called Dr. Pepper, why is there not one called Nurse Salt, or Dr. Salt? Oh, that was a very weird thought!

Hi Everyone! I actually found this website by accident. I have a 1 on 1 interview in Baltimore for a FA position and I am truly excited about it. Since I received my e-mail on Jan. 17th it is all that I can think about. I actually did a Happy Dance around my house. I'm anxious, eager and even a little nervous because this is my dream career and I know its a position that over 250,000 people have applied for. I'm truly sorry for everyone who has not received a call back but keep on trying.... I've been trying since 2004. Never give up and eventually you CAN make your dream a reality. I just wanted to know if anyone had any tips on having a sucessful interview.... this means soooooooooooo much 2 me. Well, I wish everyone out ther chasing the same dream to be a part of SWA FunLuvin Family the Best of Luck. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Thanx

Hello,
I found this website months ago and have loved reading the interesting comments and great information. I have thought about applying for SWA for years, because I have in-laws who work there and love it. I have 7 years customer service/quality assurance experience at a call center. I applied for the reservations positions at the call center in Tempe, AZ but also for a part time CSA position at Phx (which is the one I would really love to get). I am wondering if they will consider my mostly-phone customer service experience good enough for a face to face position? I am have great personality, love people and working face to face, so I am hoping I will have the opportunity to show that in an interview.
Are the CSA shifts pretty stable or does your shift change a lot from mornings to evening, different days, etc? What about the reservations position?
Also, I submitted my resume online in Dec and I wonder when I can expect a respose? It seems from the posts I have read that it is not uncommon for months to go by without being contacted (due to the large numbers of resumes). Does SWA always send some kind of response, either an invitation or rejection, or has anyone just not received a response?
Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

Brittany,
I submitted resumes for ramp and csa in dtw and never heard anything.I also submitted for appearance tech at mdw and am waiting for a start date.
Another poster here has said that they received a letter which is bad. A phone call is good.
The time that I submitted a resume for ramp was when they were accepting them, but not actually hiring. So, that is probably why I didn't hear anything. Good luck with yours and hope you hear something soon.

Brittany,
You have a great question regarding resumes submitted to Southwest Airlines. Unfortunately, there are times when we simply cannot contact everyone due to the volume of resumes we receive, as well as our current technology does not allow for automated responses. There also may be times that the needs of the hiring department may change, and external interviews are not conducted. We realize that it may appear that resumes somehow end up in the Ã

I just wanted to add that I found out today that I was placed into the pool for CSA for BHM. I flew to Chicago on December 13 for fingerprinting and had not heard anything since. I finally called today after having not heard anything back and was informed that I had cleared all of the background checks and was in the pool! How exciting! So, just because you haven't heard anything doesn't mean that you were forgotten. Does anyone know if once you're in the "pool" you remain there until a position comes open, or if you stay there for a certain amount of time and have to go back through the entire interviewprocess again? Thanks for your help!!

Yes you will remain in the pool until a position becomes open.
You wont need to be re interviewed. You may need a partial rescreen if you are in the pool for longer than 11 mos.

First I just want to say I love southwest ... only airline I will fly with! I am trying to pass some info on to my cousin. He wants to change his field of work and lives near MDW. He currently has a decent job but wants a more hands-on, promising career. I informed him that SWA was hiring for Ramp Agents. He was familiar with the job description of a Ramp Agent but was unsure of their pay. Once we checked the website and seen that starting pay was $10.18 he determined if he was hired with SWA he'd be taking a slight paycut. This isn't a big deal b/c he knows he can move up in the company if hired. His only concern is if he gets an interview, passing the background check. He does have something on his background from 1996 (10+ years) . And the online application states that you must have a clean background for the past 10 years. Currently he works in HR Management conducting interviews, background checks (ironically) etc for a food shipping facility. My question is does having a past record (although it was longer than 10yrs ago) automatically disqualify him for a position as a Ramp Agent?
Renee,
Thank you so much for your kind words about Southwest and we value your commitment to flying Southwest.
The airline industry is a highly regulated industry and, as such, we are required to adhere to certain requirements concerning past criminal history. Federal Regulations refer to certain disqualifying criminal convictions and if an applicant has a conviction for any of these crimes during the past ten years they are not eligible for employment. If your cousin's criminal conviction is outside the ten years as you have indicated, he should not be disqualified based on the Federal Regulations.
If your cousin is interested in seeking a career with Southwest, please have him log on to www.southwest.com and check the jobs currently available in his area. There are various phases of the employment process and the background check is just one of the checks required before an individual can be hired on with Southwest.
Thanks again for your support and being and 'outside recruiter' for us!!
My one and only flight was on Southwest and I loved it! I am a graduate student at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. I am taking a leadership class and we have to do a research project on leadership. I have noticed that your leadership program is ranked really high and would like to get more information on that program. My professor is also a big fan of your airline, and he travels quite often, so I thought that it would be a perfect fit. If you could give me some direction that would be wonderful. Keep up the good work and I hope to hear from you soon! Thanks
Thanks Shari,
I appreciate your input and your quick response. I love SW and will continue to be an 'outside recruiter" for anyone wanting a lasting career with a great company.
Hi every one. My name is Sal and recently received an e-mail inviting me to a hiring event for ramp agents. It states that itÃ
Hi Sal,
Thank you for your email as well as for your interest in Southwest Airlines. I hope we will see you at one of our Group Information Sessions soon. Your question about the Group Information Session is a common one and many people express confusion and/or anxiety about the process, typically because they have not experienced it before.
11 years ago when I was interviewing with Southwest Airlines I had never heard of a Group Information Session and I was incredibly nervous just before the process because I did not know what to expect. However, once the process began and I saw how friendly the Recruiter and the Employee were, I was able to relax. It was then that I realized the key to doing my best in an interview involves my ability to calm down enough to express myself clearly.
To answer your question the Group Information Session will have several people that are interested in the same position (ie Ramp Agent). We send out invitations and sometimes we can have 20+ people respond and sometimes less. We set up the chairs in a half circle so we can all see and hear each other. During the Group Information Session we do our best to tell our Candidates about all of the great things the position entails as well as the awesome benefits Southwes Airlines offers its Employees. There is so much information to share it is difficult to accomplish this task and finish the Group Session within a few hours. Then yes we do ask everyone to stand up one at a time, state their name, and answer a question or two that relates to the position you are interviewing for.
I am not able to tell you the questions not because they are top secret, but rather because they do change from time to time and vary based on the position one is interviewing for. If you were interviewing for Customer Service Agent the Recruiter may ask you to discuss a time you delivered excellent Customer Service. If you were interviewing for Ramp Agent you may asked about a time you worked in a position that required continuous lifting. The questions are always related to the position that one is interviewing for.
The good news is you are only speaking for a short period of time and the other good news is that in that short period of time you have the opportunity to answer the questions asked of you and really let your experiences and personality shine. I hope this helps with your questions and again I hope to see you in one of our Group Information Sessions soon!

Tim Conners

Leah,
Thank you for your continued passion and desire to work for Southwest! For the Flight Attendant position, I wish I could give you a definite date as to when we will be accepting resumes again, but I canÃ
Thanks, Shari! That helps. I'll just have to try for the other 2 positions I'm interested in again & later for FA.
Thought for the day: Why are they called fingernails & toenails when they're not made out of nails?
SWA LUV! :)
Good Morning,
I recently got a call to do a 1-on-1 interview for a RSA position. I am REALLY excited and have always wanted to work for SWA. Can anyone give me any tips on what to expect in the interview as it relates to this postion and how to increase my chances of being hired. If hired when does benefits and paid vacation (how many days?) kicks in? Also, if hired, I can see myself working for SWA until I retire. I wouldn't mind working in other areas if the opportunity is availble. So my last question is how long do I have to stay in one position before I can be accepted into another. My goal is to be a regional manager or VP of a department some day (A girl can dream)! Any info provided will be greatly appreciated. Wish me luck!
I recently applied on the Southwest website for a partime CSA & a ramp agent
and happy to say that I have an interview Friday the 14th for the CSA and Sat. the 15th for the ramp agent! I am soooo very excited and really hope & pray for a great opportunity with the best, Southwest! I have been diligently researching all the blogs and info that I can find. I must say to all of you, THANK YOU! I find that all of the info posted has help prepare me for this exciting opportunity....I am still very nervous just because I want this so badly. I am looking forward to joining the team and hope that it is very soon but i am a very patient person and like Leah I want an opportunity with Southwest very very much! Please wish me luck and any tips that you can think of will be greatly appreciated! Thanks Again To You All!
Lisa,
Congratulations on your interview for the RSA position! I hope it goes well. I know this blog is getting lengthy, but if you scroll up to January 10th, you will see a list of

Hi everyone...Wow I went to the Sacramento hiring event today and man it was so packed in there that they had to do two presentations... I'm a little disappointed because after the first around I was not called again. Even though I told them that I'm welling to relocate to anywhere if the position in Sacramento filled up. But IÃ
Congratulations, Kathy & Lisa! Please let us know how the interview goes. I certainly remember my excitement, & even nervousness, when I was asked for second interviews for the positions I want. :)
I'm sorry you didn't get asked back, Sal. :( Well, just keep trying for all the positions you're interested in again! What did you interview for today, & which ones are you interested in?
Well, I must get ready for bed now! It's 10:29. Zzzzzz.
SWA LUV! :)
I think I answered my own question, Sal. It was for Ramp Agent, right? I looked under the Careers section at the Recruiting Events. I, too, am willing to relocate!
I don't have a thought for the day.
SWA LUV! :)
Thanks Shari. Your Interview tips were very helpful. Last question ... I think? How in depth is the bacground check. I'm no criminal so I'm not worried on that end, but I heard that a credit history is pulled and that SW has a way to view your overall performance on work history. Is this true? The reason I ask is because I don't have the best credit score and I filed a greivance with one employer. So I don't know what they may have provided about my "performance" based on the incedent that took place. I listed their contact number for SW to contact them. But is additional info collected from another agency about that job? Should I be ready to speak to those incidents. I viewied both as private matters (credit/grievance) Does background investigations have the ability to reveal so much? I guess what I am asking is aside from crimal history and contacting my employers based on what I provided what more is there to check?
Yes it was for Ramp Agent...One of the supervisors even told me that it will be a good idea because she said that they need a lot more people in OAK... But I don't know, I have not heard anything... I guess everything is just down nowÃ
Lisa,
Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to answer your questions on Southwest Airlines Background process. Each applicant situation is unique, so it would be difficult to give you a definitive answer. My best advice to you is, be honest and every situation will be evaluated. Hope this answer helps clarify your concerns. I wish the best for you!

I had my interview for CSA in Las Vegas today! I was so nervous I slept maybe 4 hours and arrived 45 mins early! But that worked out to my advantage because it took a while to find a parking spot & the conference room. After meeting the recruiters all my nervousness went away, they made me feel so comfortable and welcome, like I was already part of the Southwest family. While sitting in the room with 24 other candidates we were shown all the Southwest commercials starting back in the 70's to current. I really enjoyed that, it just reminded me of how styles and things have changed through the years. I LUV those "It must be football season" commercials, we all had some good laughs. We were then told about all the benefits, the job description and that we should expect to work holidays & weekends because we would be the newbies. Scheduling is given out in seniority so you have to be willing to work towards getting the schedule you would like to have. We also met a few Southwest family members and they told us about how long they have been with the company and a few things about the position. Then one by one we were called into a different room to have our interviews. I felt very comfortable during the interview process and talked with Beth like she was an old friend, it was great! I was then asked to go to a different office for fingerprinting and a brief survey. I was told that it could take up to 30 days for all the employment & background checks to come back, so I am patient :) Was also told that I if I accepted another job while waiting that Southwest would gladly allow me to give a 2 wk notice which I thought was really nice. I am very excited & look forward to hearing from someone within 30 days! Thanks again to Leah & everybody else for helping me prepare for this AWESOME opportunity!
Hey Lisa! Congrats on your opportunity with SWA! Hope all goes well for you! I found out today in my interview an answer to one of the questions you asked on March 12th. You have to work in the position you're hired for, for 6 months before being eligible for a different position and you will have to go through the interview process as well. Hope this helps and best of luck to you!
Hi Sal,
I conducted a little research on your question regarding the hiring event you attended in Sacramento. The Employment Coordinator for Sacramento informed me that all notifications have not gone out for that particular event. It can take up to 14 days to receive notice of the outcome. If not selected ,I encourage you to re-apply in one year if it is still your desire to work at Southwest Airlines. Thanks for your interest in Southwest Airlines and I wish you the very best!

Hi Kathy,
I was thrilled to read your comments regarding your positive experience in Las Vegas today. We try our very best to make every applicant feel at home. I wish you the very best!

Thanks Randy! I wish every interview that I have attended could have been that wonderful! Looking forward to joining the SWA family soon!
This thread has been incredibly helpful, so I am hoping someone can answer some questions for me. I submitted a resume a few weeks ago for a corporate position. Now the career section of your website has changed and it looks like resumes can be submitted in different formats. Should I submit a new resume, and is there any way to find out when a position will close?
Natalie, we did upgrade our technology and made, hopefully (!), some good improvements to our Career page and to the user's experience of reviewing our current job listings and submitting a resume. We timed this upgrade with the closure of several positions (with a few exceptions). If you submitted a resume, we have it and there is no need to submit another one. For many of our positions, we do not have predetermined close dates. We keep a position open until we believe that we have sufficient volume and quality of candidates. My advice is to apply at the time you see the job listing rather than wait. Also, with our new technology, you will be able to automate your job search with Southwest Airlines Job Alerts and get notified immediately when new jobs that meet your criteria become available. Thanks for your interest in Southwest Airlines!

Thanks Kathy,
I'm gald your interview went well and I pray in the meantime that you get the job. My interview is Wed and I'm still searching for any information that can can help make my interview go smoothly.
Thanks again!

I was wondering if anyone knows when fll will be hiring and how long you can be in the pool.?
Hello All,
I had my RSA interview yesterday in OKC and it went extremely well. Unlike Kathy I had a phone prescreening prio to my one-on-one thus I did not do a group interview. I arrive about 40 mins earlier and was called in about 10 mins before my start time. The interviewers were extremely nice and made feel very comfortable. I was so nervous the day before the interview and all day before I arrive because I had been doing mock interviews with my husband. We were trying to make sure I hit all the key points while maintaining professionalism. I was so focused on being professional I almost forgot that SW wants to see your FUN side. This is what brought me back to reality and helped ease the nerves. I was asked questions like, why do you want to work for SW, do you have any problems being coached, and give a customer service experience you've once had good/bad? I was also asked to explain the position titles I previously had. I left feeling extremely comfident and await a reply. The only thing that concerns me is that my interviewer said " We will contact you by email within the next 2 weeks". That made me nervous because how can she be sure of that when the background investigation can take from 1 week to 30 days as I've been told, or has the policy for backgrounds changed? Have they predetermined I'm the person for the job or have they predetermined the exact opposite :~( I wasn't led off into a second room like an another applicant was! In any case I am hopeful that I did VERY well. Regardless of the outcome I am just honored to have had this opportunity. HOWEVER I REALLY WANT THIS JOB!!!
Hey Everybody! Thanks for the prayers Lisa & I am so glad that your interview went well! You are alos in my prayers :) I hope everything works out for you! I think that every location has their own hiring process so I wouldn't worry too much. I have been working with the company doing the employment, background & residential verification for the last couple of days. Making sure that they have everything that they need. I had to fax over my transcripts and fill in a gap in my residential whereabouts. I was told today that they have everything on their end and to check with my recruiter to see if they need anything else from me. Only problem is I don't have her contact info!!! Does anybody know how I can find her???? I interviewed in Las Vegas so I am hoping to contact her a.s.a.p. I really want this opportunity as well and I am very excited to hear that things are moving right along! Best of luck to you all!
Lisa, I interviewed for RSA in OKC, too, last November! :) I had a group & one-on-one, but unfortunately, wasn't picked for training. :( I just have to keep trying!
Thought for the day: Why is it called a joystick? Did someone named Joy come up with it?

I meant to say I interviewed for RSA in November 2006, not 2007! Anyyay, please keep us posted!

Hi Kathy,
Our hiring event in Las Vegas last week was very successful and our Recruiters and Employment Specialist are very busy processing the many candidates that we visited with. I will make sure that she calls you Monday morning. I wish you the very best!

Randy,
Think you meant Kathy ... not Lisa.
He did, Lisa,
Randy sent me an e-mail over the long weekend to change it, but I was distracted by other stuff this morning. I will change it now.

Hello,
I am interested in a position in the reservations call center at Midway Airport. I applied online at Southwest Airlines Career about 2 months ago but have not received any response yet. I worked at a call center before but not for airlines. I like the new website for the careers it's much more easier now to apply. I also put my resume in. I also applied for CSA and RSA but more interested in reservations. If you can let me know if MDW will be hiring for reservations that will be great.
Thanks

Blog boy distracted?
Haha not him ;-)
I'm here and you are there. But where is there?
Joe
Thank You Randy! I received an e-mail from her, she said that she might be in contact with me sometime this week. Thank You again for the support! Best of luck to everyone! :)
Hello All,
Well today I recieved a message that my interview was successful and that my background process will begin next. After the background screening is completed I will be placed in a RSA pool awaiting a training class date which starts in May. Orientation starts two weeks prior to my training class date. I'm no longer worried about my background b/c I disclosed all the info about my credit and prior work history and was still selected to continue. I assume after the background clears i will await a start date.
Kathy do you have any updates? I'm keeping you in my prayers as well as those that continue to seek SWA employment. Please do the same for me! I'll keep you all posted.
Congrats Lisa!!!:) I also have been contacted by a very nice lady doing my background check. I'm hoping & praying that everything works out for both of us!! Thanks again for your prayers! Best of Luck To Everyone You Are All Also In My Prayers!
Shari et al,
For a technology-related position, what is the best way to get my resume' viewed by a human instead of it being thrown on the pile with the thousands of others?
Sometimes I think my only real chance would be to stand on Love Field Drive and wave while wearing a sandwich board promoting myself. :-D
Hi Everyone!
Maybe someone can answer a question for me. I applied for a position as a CSA for Tulsa back in January. I live in Detroit but I'm moving to the Tulsa area within the next 2 months. Thought I'd get ahead of my job search and hearing that there were openings in Tulsa at Southwest was like a dream come true! Anyway, I submitted my resume online and have yet to hear anything from anyone. It didn't concern me much because I could always look at the website and find out when Southwest was holding career fairs and figured that whenever they held one in Tulsa I could just go then. However, since the website has changed and does not inform us on when the career fairs are coming anymore, I'm starting to get concerned now. Tulsa has since been taken off the hiring list and I never received an e-mail to let me know that they received my resume at the main office. Does anyone know how I would find out what's going on with the Tulsa hiring and whether I still have a chance at working with Southwest? It would truly be a dream come true for me if I did get the job because I have worked in customer service for the past 20 years and I feel as though Southwest is the absolute best airline out there to date! (I've only traveled on one other airline once. Okay, I admit I cheated on Southwest with another airline, but I came back begging for forgiveness and now after a little counseling, our connection is stronger than ever ;D. I learned my lesson and I'm never going to roam AGAIN!! ) I know it would be my pleasure to serve the customers and employers of Southwest. But right now I would love any input on how to deal with my little situation. If you have any answers or suggestions I would love to hear them guys. Thanks for taking the time to read about my little ol' plight. Take care everybody!!
Hey Everyone!
I am going today to do a drug screeening! I am sooooo excited to hear back from someone! Be sure to check your e-mails on a regular basis! I will keep you all posted! Best of Luck To you All!
Hello All,
Well I'm sure my background cleared. I talked to a lady from the background agency today and she informed me that everything cleared and that she would be forwarding the information on to SWA. She stated that I could have been cleared last week but it took my last employer 3 days to get back with her. In any case, I guess I will be going for a drug test soon! (No Worries!) I realise that hiring is done on a first cleared basis, so I wonder how many folk were placed in a hiring pool before me given I had a 3 day delay. ( Must exercise patience ...)
Kathy, did you have to fly to a different location for your drug test or was it done locally. How were you contacted about the the drug test?
Brian in BNA,
I love your enthusiasm and creativeness for the Ã
Hi, Regina! I live in TUL! :) That's awesome! :) Please let us know when you hear something. I noticed, too, that TUL was taken off the hiring list. :( You will LUV it here.
"I'm going back to school, I'm going back to school. Hi ho, the derry oh I'm going back to school!" Yes, I am going back for a second Bachelors degree; this time it's in Psychology, which is what my Associates is in! I want to work in the Mental Health field & have been really interested in it since my first Psych. class in high school. It's rewarding, & also, when talking to my Psychologist, she makes me want to go into that field.
SWA LUV! :)
Leah,
What happened to your ideas of being a f/a, csa, rsa, cmt, cbs, nbc, tnt, tnn, etc?
So you will get a stand and a sign that says 5 cents please and the doctor is in?
:-)
Did you know that LeAAh has AA in it?
Joe!
Yes, Joe! I probably will. :) When do you start training? I want to hear, please, how things go! :)
Thought for the day: Why is it called baby sitting when you don't sit on the babies/kids?
When you want to fly the best, fly Southwest!
SWA LUV! :)
I will Leah!
I wait for my phone to ring everyday with the hopes of a start date, but it is just not my time yet. I am supposed to be next in line though. I had to take another drug test as the old one expired.
I know it will be worth the wait!!
:-)
Thanks, Joe! I'm glad you're next in line. :) That's good!
Thought for the day: Why is it called candy when it's not made out of cans?
SWA LUV! :)
Hey Lisa! Nice to hear that we're both moving along in the process! I was contacted by e-mail for the drug screening. It gave me 48 hrs from the time I opened the e-mail to take it here locally. Then I had to e-mail a number from the receipt I was given to the lady who had sent me the e-mail. I contacted her to make sure that she had received my e-mail and she then told me that the drug test was just another step in the process and it could be another 4-6 wks. So I am patient as I know that it takes time for the results to come in. I saw another person who had interviewed the same time as I did in the medical center she was also there for her screeening. So I am hoping that I am not too far behind in the process. You are still in my prayers as well as everyone else that is patiently waiting to join the SWA family! Best Of Luck To You All!!
Hi Kathy!
It's been six months for me.
Some positions fill up alot faster though. There was a person who interviewed the same day as me for an ops agent and he is already working in PIT. The line for ap. techs is a bit longer. I can't even imagine what it is like to go through 325,000 resumes each year. 4,000 of them were just from Leah. J/K Leah.
Then to interview over 29,000 people! I'd never be able to keep track of all of them!
Joe!
Sounds good Kathy. I got another email congratulating me on moving through the hiring process and offering me a slot at the orientation which takes place April 21. I suppose to start my 3 weeks training on May 5. I still have not been asked to take the drug test and my background investigation is still pending. I think that the pending issue is due to non-communication between SWA and the investigation agency, b/c the investigation agency told me I cleared and the info was forwarded to SWA. Obviously SWA has not gotten the memo as of yet, LOL . But I'm truly in good spirts and can't wait to go to the orientation class. I'll let you know all about it if I go before you get a date! Good luck to you all!
Lisa
Thank you Shari, I reviewed the list of positions again, and lo and behold.. found a "Marketing Planner" position that I am well suited for!
::fingers crossed:: :-D
Hi Leah,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I did hear from someone from the company which I was very happy about. Now I have good news and bad news. The good news is that they still have my resume on file at headquarters so I'm very happy that the computer gremlins didn't make off with it :). The bad news is that they are not currently hiring in Tulsa right now. It was a little sad to hear, but like you I have no intention of giving up that easily! In the meantime I'll just have to focus more on my move. I can't wait to become a Tulsan! Hope to hear from you soon. Take care of yourself!
Hi, Regina! Thanks for the update! I'm glad they still have your resume but sad they're not hiring in TUL now. I know you'll LUV it here! :)
Joe, I sent in 3,999! :) You were close on your guess! Ha, ha! The People Department would flip their pancakes!
Thought for the day: Why are the called pinwheels when they're not made out of pins?
SWA LUV! :)
Leah,
Fill out the other resume, what are you waiting for?
You Owe Kim $56.95. BTW
Joe!
:-)
Okay! I'll do that & send Kim $56.95. Ha! :)
Thought for the day: Since shoes come in half sizes, why don't clothes? You could wear, say, a 5 1/2 in a dress!
SWA LUV! :)
Hello Everyone,
After applying for a Ramp Agent position @ LAS, I spent the last 34 minutes reading through Back to Work and Back to Work - The Sequel.
So I thought I would toss my name into the mix.
My fiance and I just returned home (BUF) from Vegas last night and while we were checking in our boarding passes, I spoke with one of the reps at the counter about hiring positions w/Southwest. He informed me the company was always looking for Ramp Agents @ LAS, so here I am, jumping on the first opportunity I have seen.
As a passenger, I have flown Southwest 4 out of my 8 flights throughout my lifetime (the 4 Southwest flights, I was able to choose, the others were out of my hands unfortunately). I have enjoyed all 4 flights greatly.
I would like to ask two questions:
a) Might there be any Business Analyst / IT / Web Design (or similar) positions available at LAS?
b) Should I be accepted for an interview at some point, is it possible to interview at Southwest in BUF (not that I wouldn't mind flying out to the southwest again)?
My goal is to re-locate to Henderson/Las Vegas, NV or the Phoenix, AZ area with employment from Southwest at some point in the near future.
Thank you for your time.
Hi Wayne,
Thanks so much for your interest in Southwest Airlines. The positions we primarily hire for in Las Vegas are entry level positions such as Ramp Agent and Customer Service Agent. Southwest Airlines is Headquartered in Dallas Texas, this would be your best bet for an IT or Web Design posting.
I encourage you to continue monitoring Southwest.com/Careers. Thanks again for your interest and I truly hope our paths cross in the future. Happy job hunting!

So, SWA announced that growth is going to be scaled back in the coming quarters. What does this mean for People Growth? And how about Internal Audit?
Still love SWA! ;-)
Nikki
Nikki, it means all people over six foot tall will have to be downsized. ;-)
On a more serious note, there still is a net increase of 7 aircraft this year so more people will still be needed and there are 47 openings. They are looking to hire 4000+ people this year.
Joe
I am currently in the pool for A Ramp Agent position for PBI. I am looking for anyone that works at PBI that might have information on Ramp Agent positions opening in the near future. Help!!!! Hope an opening is coming soon .Thanks for you help in advance. Looking forward to working with you all at SWA.
Thanks Again Jeffrey
Hello everyone!
I got my call and am going to the big d for training in two weeks!
Joe!
:-)
Congratulations, Joe. That's good.
By the way, I've decided to give up on getting on with SWA.
Leah,
that is a major :-(.
Going to be a psychologist instead?
Hello All,
So I went to my orientation yesterday for the RSA position and it went really well. Basically it was an informational on what to expect as employees of SWA. I must say I have great expectations! I go for my drug test today then I start training on 5 May which lasts until 23 May. I'll recieve my badge after successful completion of training (no sweat) and considered an official SWA employee thereafter. First day of work, May 26! How are things coming for you? Any new news Kathy?
Lisa,
Congrats!
Are you training in Dal May 5?
I'll be there that week.
Joe
No I won't. I'll be training here in OKC for 3 weeks. I don't go to DAL until
Jun 8 and it's only for a weekend for some sort of flight course.
Congrats Joe! I've been in the pool for CSA for BHM for about two months now. I can't wait until something opens up here! :)
Thanks Michelle!
It took me about 8 months to get out of the pool.
Lisa, Have fun in OKC!
Joe
Yes, Joe, I hope to! Well, after my second Bachelor's, I have to obviously get a Master's & license! If I decide to try again for SWA, I can use my Psychology on the Customers! It's too bad I can't be a Psychologist two days a week, an FA one day a week, a CSA one day a week, & an RSA one day a week!
I'm sure you're counting down the days. I would be! :)
Thought for the day: Why are they called Jumping Jacks? Did Jack come up with that?
SWA LUV! :)
Leah,
You don't need a license.
That is only a myth.
Want to buy the Brooklyn bridge?
My parents have some oceanfront property for you in Arizona.

Howdy everyone!
I am hoping that someone in the People dept. can help me with two questions?
1. If a new applicant worked in management (NYC Recruiting and Int'l Compensation) at a competing airline, even though this was 7 years ago, will this likely harm their chances of coming on-board with SWA?
2. Background on question 2 -
After being extremely blessed with great jobs minus a degree, I finally decided to go back to school and finish. After making the difficult decision to return to school, I am now one semester away from graduating with a BS-Aviation Science and a BBA-Human Resources. The remaining classes are available online which allows me to finally move forward and attempt to join the SWA team now.
The question is how the online application system will read my resume.
The job that I am applying for does require a degree in Aviation or Business or a 4 year degree and airline experience.
Even though I have previous airline management experience and I am preparing to graduate with an Aviation degree and Business degree, I am afraid that the computer program will not move my resume forward because I have not graduated.
I am so SUPER excited about applying to SWA but should I wait until I do graduate or will the computer program somehow work with my situation?
Sorry for such a long post.
Thank You so much!
-Dan Adams
Hey there, Joe! How were your first two days of training? I bet these two weeks will fly by (ha, ha. Get it? Fly by?)!
Thought for the day: Why are they called Sun Chips when they're not made from the sun or shaped like it?
SWA LUV! :)
Hi Everyone,
I have recently applied for the Training Scheduler I position with SWA in Dallas. I hope to hear something soon and would luv the opportunity to interview. I have told several people about applying for the position with SWA and they have all said the same thing, "Great company to work for but good luck getting on with them" and my reply is always the same, "wow, thank you for those words of encouragement."
Hearing the words "good luck getting an interview" might scare the new college grad but I am no stranger to competition. If one of the fine folks in Dallas should happen to see this I would luv to lean more about this particular position.
FYI: To all of you aspiring NUTS! I just finished a great book that really digs into the history of SWA. If you want to learn more about this fascinating airline, then NUTS! Southwest Airlines' Crazy Recipe for Business and Personal Success is the book for you.
Please keep us posted, James! :) That's exciting.
I have the book "Nuts!" & am reading it again; I've read it so much some of the pages fell out & I taped them back in!
Observation for the day: "Edit" spells "tide" backwards!
SWA LUV! :)
That is hilarious about the pages falling out. You could just rip the rest of them out, use a three hole punch and make a binder book out of it.
I will keep you posted!
Leah,
training is a lot of fun. I got to meet the head blogger and Colleen was our guest speaker for FLY class. I got to see the other side of the blog!
Joe!
Thanks! It is hilarious, James! :) I didn't mention that two of my friends I LUV dearly, who work for Southwest where I live, autographed my book!
That's great, Joe! I'm glad you're having fun. :) What does FLY class stand for?
Maybe one day I can be a Psychologist for Southwest! If that career-Psychologist-turns out not to be for me, then I will certainly try again for Southwest!
Thought for the day: Why do they call them house shoes when they're not made out of a house? It must be because that's where you wear them.
SWA LUV! :)
Leah,
Freedom
Luv and
You
I had a soft cover copy of the NUTS! book and its pages fell out also. Now I have a hardcover book.
Armrest must be in down position for taxi, takeoff and landing.
Ding! boy
Joe
Oh, thanks, Joe! That makes sense. How long do you attend training?
Where did you get a hardcover copy of the book? Maybe I could buy one & still keep my other one, of course.
Thought for the day: Why is it called an ear of corn when it's not shaped like an ear? Hmmmm.
SWA LUV! :)
Hey Everybody!
Lisa, Congratulations on your job opportunity! I received a letter in the mail & after all the excitement I was turned down! It was my fault though I still have A LOT of LUV for SWA! There was something that came up in my background check that was many many years ago that came up to bite in the behind :( I would've disclosed it however it was so long ago I blocked it out of my mind and honestly forgot about it. I know, I know it sounds like a lame excuse but if I would have disclosed it there wouldn't have been any problems because it was minor. But because I didn't it was automatic rejection :(!
I have been hired by another airline because I did disclose it with them, but I will not give up on being a part of the SWA family as I can reapply next year for CSA which is what I want. So I will take this new opportunity and get some airline experience under my belt and I will be back! I wish you all the best of luck in all your endeavors!
Congratulations, Lisa! That's great! *Has party.*
Kathy, I'm really sorry you got the letter no one wants to get! I've gone through that before & I was crushed. I shed some tears, too; I won't lie about that! I'm glad you're not giving up!
Well, I better get ready for bed now!
Thought for the day: Why are they called cucumbers when they're not shaped like Q's?
SWA LUV! :)
Thanks Leah!
Yes I must say I was VERY crushed and yes I did shed many tears. I am over it now & I know it was my own mistake. If I had remembered it I woud have definitley disclosed it! I hope that all the people out there that are looking to join the SWA family will read about my mistakes and will not make the same ones that I did. Much LUV to you all!
Leah,
The books were handed out along with a mandatory tee shirt.
I was in Dal for 1 week. I just finished 1 week @ mdw. Thursday was my first day cleaning 2 planes.
Brian has a large model of an airbus 380 in his office in swa livery.
I didn't see a single piece of candycorn!
Joe Friedmann- Mdw based aircraft appearance technician!
That's great, Joe! From now on, I'll have to ask if you cleaned my planes when I board. :)
What does your t-shirt look like?
I wonder if Blog Boy hid his candy corn? I wish I could meet him, Carole, Paula, & the others! I did get to meet Mary Noel-Hennes in STL when I was waiting for my flight. She autographed a boarding pass, gave me some cool things, & was in a picture with me!
Thought for the day: Why is it called pineapple when it's not made from an apple?
SWA LUV! :)
Blog boy seems to have disappeared!
Anyone heard from him?
Joe Friedmann- Mdw based aircraft appearance technician!
I'm sorry, but I am still around. You can't get rid of me that easy. I was just in the Big Apple all last week.
Blog Boy
Now you eat apples instead of candycorn?
Much healthier.
Joe Friedmann- Mdw based aircraft appearance technician!
Awww, you're welcome Kathy! I'm glad you're better now. Don't give up! :)
I'm glad you're back from the Big Apple, Blog Boy! I LUV it there & hope you had a good trip. Speaking of apples, I will eat one (maybe with peanut butter on it) & have something to drink for breakfast tomorrow; that will be all!
Observation for the day: Graduate has the word "ate" in it!
SWA LUV & mine to all! :)
The comment I posted yesterday (the 20th), shouldn't have been from Anonymous! It's from Leah; I just didn't type my name!
If Southwest ever hires Psychologists, you can hire me, once I'm qualified! :)
Thought for the day: Why are they called Cracker Jacks when they're not made out of crackers? Also, maybe Jack came up with the idea.
SWA LUV! :)
Hi everyone! I just wanted to say that I'm still in the pool (been there since February) and SW has been great about keeping me informed about any movement in BHM. It's a smaller airport, so not as much movement as some of the bigger cities I'm guess. I did hear in the last couple of weeks that there has been some movement, but I'm still in the pool. This is a great sign that there has been movement! :)
By the way, is the site www.seat-sniper.com in any way affiliated with Southwest? They are one of those that get your boarding pass for you and I thought that they were all shut down. Just curious.
Greetings all! I just recieved an email for a Southwest interview in Denver. This is for a ramp agent position. The interview will take place at a hotel. I have several questions about this:
1) Is this one of those group session interviews? (wasn't stated in the email)
2) Will I have to travel to Denver multiple times during the hiring process? (from SAT)
Thanks. This blog has been VERY informative and helpful.
Can anyone give me a run down about the ramp agent training in Dallas TX? I understand you have to pass with a 90% what are you graded on? My father is 62 and applied for a job as a ramp agent, he is in far better shape than me so I am not worried about the physical aspect BUT he isn't into modern techonology yet. I just wanted an idea.
Thanks!
April
I recently applied online for an administrative position. Through research, I've learned the name of my prospective supervisor. Would it help or hurt to contact him/her directly with a cover letter and resume? It's been a strategy that's worked well for me in the past, but I'm not sure if be considered enterprising or intrusive at SWA.
Thoughts?
I LUV all the information on this blog. I am very excited about the prospect to join the SWA family. I have applied for CSA positions at both LAX and San Diego. I have confirmed an interview for the San Diego position this month. Does this mean that I will no longer be considered for LAX? How long would I need to be employed to transfer to LAX? How long is the interview process in total? Thank you in advance for any information/support. Have a wonderful Day!
Hiya Jeff. First of all, Great Name! I ran across your profile with an updated Google Alert on my own name. My company is in the midst of a flurry of press releases about our company and my new position so updating the alerts made sense. I love southwest and fly southwest to the point of jumping through hoops to find any way I can avoid all the other airlines.
In any case, I wanted to reach out to you and posting a comment on your blog was all I came up with. My email address is jeff at domedia if you'd like to exchange details on the joys of having our name.

Wow! So much useful information!
My resume appears to have generated some interest and it is gratifying to me.
Recently, I applied for part-time CSA in San Diego and full-time RSA in Oklahoma City and Phoenix.
July 16 saw an email from Matt Rogers in Dallas about my interest in Oklahoma City and from Dave Vogt in Phoenix about my interest in San Diego. On replying to both, July 18 saw offers from both Mr. Rogers and Mr. Vogt about interviews, and so I scheduled with Mr. Vogt for an interview July 23 in San Diego and with Mr. Rogers for an interview July 24 in Oklahoma City.
Both were one-on-one interviews, and I was offered the opportunity to move forward with background checks, etc. for both San Diego and Oklahoma City. To top it off, I received an email from Emily Rosendahl in Phoenix about the Phoenix RSA position on July 25.
I guess my timing was right and my resume fits what Southwest Airlines needs. WOOHOO! BTW, I have decided to continue forward with RSA in Oklahoma City. My fingers are crossed for the acceptance and offer to start with Southwest Airlines!
Hi,
I have a question. I recently went to a GI for FA position and then had a one on one, or I guess I should say one on three, myself, two FA's and a recruiter. ( : Anyhow, after the interview, I was taken into another room and fingerprinted and filled out more paperwork. Is this normal protocal for all FA interviews? Does everyone that interviewed get fingerprinted or is this a good sign for me? I'm still waiting to hear and it's just been over a week. I'm going SOOOO excited! Thanks for any replies!
JL
The wheels are moving for me in my quest to become a member of the Southwest Airlines Team as an RSA.
My interview was successful and I received the email asking me to submit a urine sample. The anticipation is both excruciating and wonderful at the same time!
Hi Chris,
I received my email to submit a urine sample on 7/28/08. I received my offer letter of employment today 8/14! I am from San Diego; I accepted the RSA position in Vegas.
Good luck to you!!!
Hi everyone,

Are there any job fair dates coming up? I am in SoCal, but could travel to attend one. Is a job fair different from a general information session? If so, what is the difference. I am new to the process, so any information is greatly appreciated.
Since changing over to the new career website, has the process changed any. I'm just curious why the group sessions are no longer listed.

Hello everyone! I have recently came across this website in search for some insight on my career search. I recently applied to two (2) positions with Southwest one in Dallas, the other in Indianapolis as a Records Analyst. My 10 years of Naval service has given me the chance to gain experience in the aviation field as a Records Analyst. I will be separating in the next 5 months, with the intent to grasp a career with southwest. Does anyone know the process of the application steps when the HR receives them? The position in Indiana has now closed, but the Dallas position is still currently open. I also have emailed a couple people from this website of whom publicly gave out there contact info :) and still no response. Congrats to all who have obtained there position at Southwest ,maybe you can give me some insight on just how you did it..... :)
Come and listen to the story
‘bout a guy named Chris…
He lived in San Diego
and he thought he’d found his bliss…
Then one day, he was surfing on the net,
found jobs at Southwest Airlines
and said “I’ll place my bet.”
Travel, that is…
airfare…rental cars.
Well, the first thing you know,
He's got an interview…
Next thing you know,
He’s flying nonrevenue…
Soon after that,
He’s getting paid to play…
He’s got himself a job as a Southwest RSA.
Takin’ calls, that is…
Customer Service…Reservations…
My impression of living and working the Southwest way has had a great foundation set by Tammy Slaughter and Ed Boerner, our training coordinators and Kelli Wehba, our facilitator. From what I have experienced so far, the sky is the limit for me with Southwest Airlines.
I am proud to be a member of the Southwest Airlines family. My commitments to Southwest Airlines are that I will strive to deliver Positively Outrageous Service to every customer and I will do whatever I can to save and make money for the company and myself in the performance of my job.
This is for codygavyn- I would be more than happy to talk to you if you'd like to email me. My addrress is mdhkitten@gmail.com
Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding flight attendant training dates? I am in the pool. I can't wait to work for SW!!!
Thanks,
Leesa
Good afternoon. Inspiration does exist, but it must find you working.
I am from Hungary and learning to write in English, tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "Cheap flights fast offers you cheap airline tickets to over destinations! Find cheap business class airline tickets."
Thank you very much :P. Abel.
I had a few questions about my status. I interviewed on sept 3, and i still have not heard anything as of yet. i have interviewed before and was passed over. I never understood why when i went to the group interviews i was always selected to stay while other people were sent home. i always thought the interviews went well but was never selected. So i moved on and got hired by a competitor. I have no felonies and my drivers record is good.
I just wanted to see or talk to someone to find out if there is a problem i can fix or mis-information on me. When the last company did a background check on me some bad information came up but ended up being an error on the court. if im not selected i just wanted to know why so maybe the next time i can improve my chances.
Also for the background check do they do it for all the candidates or the ones they pick to move on in the process.
I had my interview yesterday for ramp agent at Midway. I am excited and nervous. Are there any women that work at MDW as a ramp agent? Don't want to be the only one! lol I have done physical work before - but I am sure it is nothing compared to a ramp agent. Wish me luck!
Ive heard that Southwest has an apprentcieship program for mechanics. Is this true?If so how can I find out more information about the program. Thanks.
Question ... if you submitted your resume online and got a call or e-mail for an interview, what do you think it was in your resume that got you noticed?
I am so very happy that I received a call for a job offer at the Phoenix call center. sincerely, one of the happiest days of my life, getting this job, after passing the phone interview and then passing the physical interview. I fly out to Dallas on Dec 13th to receive my badge. I was very lucky...i feel like i won the job lotto. I have reviewed this blog and the prior blog several times before I received the phone call. I noticed many questions about the backround check and how long the process takes and what the secret is, of passing the physical interview? I will tell you that the recruiters seek a positive and fun attitude and they look for applicants that sincerely have empathy for resolving customer complaints. Your application must be complete with established phone #'s for contacts of prior employers and an explanation of any employment gaps. In my case there were some gaps and honesty is important. Gaps are ok...you just have to explain why there was a gap and several reasons could be an off the books job or a family issue that needed your attention. Not everyone hired for southwest has had prior employement without gaps. Also with regard to the phone and physical interview... you must tell them that you feel the customers' frustration when dealing with resloving whatever issues come up, along with an excellent and professional phone manner and dont just say it because they will ask for a prior(s) examples of how you successfully resolved customer complaints and you must tell the recruiter that you PUT YOURSELF IN THE CUSTOMERS UNFORTUNATE POSITION, whatever that may be. With regard to the background check...for me it was quick. I received the job offer 8 days after the interview. I also assisted the background vendor with expediting my check with obtaining verification of education ( direct phone # to establish your high school and college transcripts) and obtaining employment verification from prior employers that do not always respond in a timely manner. I was very lucky and I had prior pay stubs for the past 3 years to verify my own employment and faxed these to the background check company as they requested. Normally, background checks should take no longer that 5-7 days however, following up with the person who interviewed you as soon as you know your background check is completed was very important in my case. I got the job offer, within 5 minutes of sending my recruiter and email that the background check was complete and sent to southwest, otherwise the information would have sat there longer. Following up is important to getting the offer sooner and/or getting an answer on your status. I wish all of you luck and my heart, sincerely, goes out to prior applicants that were not as lucky and blessed as I was and I want these people to remember that not getting this job does not mean that you weren't qualified for the position and it does not mean that they didn't like you!!! You must remember the probability of getting in with this company is not in your favor. These recruiters make very important decisions to hire applicants that they feel would be best but dont let that decision take away from your self worth and keep trying and never give up!!!!! i sincerely hope this information is a help to anyone out there, either waiting for a job offer or anyone that did not receive the job. God Bless!!!!
HI Everyone!!!
I had an interview for a telephone customer relations representative in Dallas and Im so anxious to hear something back. I love EVERYTHING about Southwest Airlines, but there was one thing that really stuck out to me about Southwest. During the beginning of the recession when most airlines where trying to survive because of the tremendous drop in sales, most airlines started charging for bags, stopped serving food on board, increase ticket prices to keep the airline from sinking. As a customer of Southwest Airlines, I felt that they were the only airline who kept it together and wasnt looking at the customer for money to bail them out. They stood firm and even if they did have problems, we( as the customer) had No IDEA!!! Whats so important to me in anything or anyone is how can a person, business or object hold up during the weakest moments and Southwest has truly won me over. GOOD JOB SOUTHWEST!!!!
This was truly a "survival of the fittest" moment.....I admire your airline and your people to the fullest
To: CARRIEK
I'm so glad you wrote your comment!!! Congratulations on your job offer and hope everything works out in your favor. God bless!!
I was wondering if anyone had any information on A&P mechanic jobs at BWI. I have eleven years of maintenance experience with the last three being on 737-700's. I currently work at Andrews AFB but I live, literally, 5 minutes from BWI and am looking to change over to the commercial side of the industry. I monitor the careers section of Southwest.com regularly but I haven't seen any announcements for mechanics at all in the last year or so. Does anyone know if there are going to be any anticipated openings? Any large number of retirements coming up? Any information that anyone has for me would be greatly appreciated.
I was wondering if anyone had information on A&P mechanic jobs at BWI. I currently work at Andrews AFB but I live 5 minutes from BWI and am looking to break into the commercial side of the industry. I have 11 years of maintenance experience with the last 3 years being on 737-700's. I have been told by many people in the past that there is no better alternative to working at Southwest if you love (or LUV) the aviation industry. My Uncle was a mechanic at another major airline and he highly suggested applying for Southwest before any other airline. I monitor the careers section of Southwest.com regularly but I haven't seen mechanic jobs advertised at all for any location in about a year. I was wondering if there was going to be a big turnover soon with retirements or anything like that. Any information that anyone can provide to me will be greatly appreciated.
hello!
i recently applied for a ramp position with southwest in Denver, and received a call on friday. So I called back today and had a brief over the phone interview and was told it would be about 4 weeks before they made their decisions and got back to everyone. I know they must have had tons of applications because I believe they also had a fair not so long ago. I did ramp for another airline here in denver about 2 years ago but didnt stay there long because of school and not being able to schedule work around it. Im really excited about being able to get back into the aviation field.
I've been looking around the site trying to find info on the training as I know its in texas and is about 2 weeks long. Anyone care to share their experiences on their ramp training?
Sorry about the double post. I didn't think the first one went through!!
Hi Everyone,
I feel exactly the same as CarrieK! I was offered a position in the PHX call center and will also be flying out to Dallas on Dec 13! I am so excited !
I also received the job offer 8 days after the interview...everything CarrieK mentioned was spot on.....make sure you have a good phone number for people to reach you. I had the background check company call me to let me know they had not been able to get a hold of my former employer.....I put a call in to him and told him to call background check company ASAP!!!!!
Looking forward to meeting everyone!!!
Hi Jen!!! I am so happy for you and for us!!!! Looking forward to meeting you on Sunday!! As I write this I am listening the President Obama speak about our sad economy and the issue of job growth. Although Jen and I are now officical employees of Southwest Airlines...my heart goes out to the thousands of people out there that are not as fortunate as Jen and I. I can't help but feel very sad for people out of work that are trying to survive and I am praying for all of you!!! I want you all to know that there is hope and to never give up the job search!!! I have been there and as a single parent with my daughter in her third year of college...it has not been easy. I know what it is to struggle and I know the feeling of desperation to find a "good" job. Right now...any job you may have...is a "good" job...and remember there are thousands without any job and/or unemployed. Truly, one of the most horrible and scariest experiences in life!!! Again, I am praying for people everywhere, in despair, and I have been there!!! DON'T give up!!! Life changes on a dime, changes, for both good and bad and all it takes is that one moment or that one phone call that says..."you got the job" :)))))))
And thank you so very much to Niks02 for your comment to me. Your comment is very uplifting to me!!!! God Bless You All !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Carrie-
Thanks! I am happy for us too! Your words are so true...never give up hope! This has been a very tough year for everyone, myself included, and what I have learned is that you just have to keep trying, never stop. Good Luck to everyone !!!!!
Carrie, looking forward to meeting you on Sunday too! Which class will you be in AM or PM? I was unable to make it to the FAQ session on Tuesday..Did you go?
