Rapid Rewards 101

By:

Some people count calories, but I suggest counting Rapid Rewards credit.  Buy a... read more

From Shamu to the Finish Line

By:

During my FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) 1st class medical several months back, my doctor asked if I was participating in the Jacksonville Senior Games to be held the following week. As a runner, he felt I certainly would be competitive. Little did he know, that I had always wondered how I would do swimming, an activity I thoroughly enjoyed, and one I often did on my... read more

Senator Edward Kennedy

By:

Our sympathy goes out to the family of Senator Kennedy.  We were fortunate to see Senator Kennedy onboard our aircraft from time to time out of our Providence Station.  We also owe the Senator a great thank you for his early and staunch support of airline deregulation, which allowed Southwest Airlines to carry our low fares beyond the borders of Texas. In fact, his name... read more

So that means that if you fly Southwest on any given day, your odds are just over five percent that you’ll be boarding one of these... read more

By:

Today the EPA recognized Southwest Airlines as one of its Green Power Leaders for purchasing green power at our Dallas and Houston operations.  What does that mean?  It means that our Dallas and Houston operations are purchasing nearly 16 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of Green Power, which is enough to meet 30 percent of the factilities’ purchased electricity use.  We buy... read more
