I read about this Friday and was awed and proud. Then I dropped off a friend at the El Paso airport yesterday. Since we arrived at the airport with way too much time to spare, I went in and we had a cup of coffee. Two soldiers were at the table next to us and they were talking about SWA "Flight 131" - even though they weren't part of the Ft. Bragg soldiers, they were giddy over the fact that some of their brethren were given this special gift from SWA.

Edit - it should read "SWA 'Flight 171""

Cuddos to SW Airline. The artical about your gift to these guys is all over the internet. You guys are great. The gift you gave these soldiers is a gift to all that support our troops. You've earned a customer for life. Keep up the good work.

Very nicely done! I live on one of the largest Navy towns in the U.S. and I'm glad to see that businesses are still stepping up to support the troop!

I just read that SWA helped 200 soldiers get home! That is so WONDERFUL and CARING, you bring cheerful thoughts just thinking about it! YOU ARE THE KIND OF COMPANY I WANT TO WORK FOR----You put OUR SOLDIERS FIRST!

God Bless You! (More companies and corporations SHOULD followed your example!)

WOW!!!!! Thank You !!!!!!

Southwest has always been my favorite airline to fly, but after your generosity to the soldiers -- if SWA offers a flight to where I need to go, I'm going to take it over any other. No matter what.

I am in awe of your generosity, and Thank you from the bottom of my heart for continuously being a class act. So many businesses of all sorts could take a lesson from you. God Bless and Thank You again.

You are my hero, in this age we live in, you are a breath of fresh air. Your gift to these soldiers and thier families is the true spirit of xmas. I salute you and God Bless all of you.

I am not in the service...but I do want to thank SOUTHWEST for the greatest gift this year~!!! You guys are the BEST~!!!

Truely a very nice gesture on the behalf of SWA.

southwest, we just returned from las vegas 12/29/07 where we flew flight 1840 the flight was fine we arrived on time flight personel was fine. have but one complaint and that was our luggage, it took over 1 hour and 10 min. to retrieve our luggage, no one would answer why, we had someone that was suppose to pick us up and they had to wait for over an hour. For that i will no longer be a customer of southwest again. Ernie Shifflett

as a former employee of eastern airlines, for all the negative press about
airlines, it was great to hear about what you have done for these families.
where were you guys when i was in viet nam 1968...ha ha..

Now take are of all your loyal customers and ASSIGN SEATS!!!!
I agree it was time to do away wiht the old system, but the new one that replaced it is worse and less than fair
It is time to do away with the new unfair system and ASSIGN SEATS!!!
