Behind the Scenes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
I had the chance to go behind the scenes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in El Paso, TX. It was great to see how the designers, Eduardo and Paul, who I watch every weekend, are genuinely concerned with the families they are helping. You can see their Servant's Hearts at work in the video as they unload cargo off of our Boeing 737. What you don't see on camera is even better. Paul and Eduardo help the crew with all of the camera equipment after they are finished filming. It isn't just for show.
As you saw in Sunday's episode, the Ruiz family put their own needs aside to help others in need. That is what it is all about!
It was truly a memorable experience that I will never forget.

I read this blog yesterday. When I went home I happened to catch a rerun of Extreme Makeover. I am not sure if it is the same episode as this one. The designer who was building the son's room wanted to do an airplane theme. So he went to SWA in PHX and got all kinds of spare airplane parts to use in the boy's room. Later it shows some of our mechanics helping put together the room. At the end SWA gave the son 10 free roundtrip tickets. Watching what SWA helped do for that family made me very proud to be a part of the Southwest family.
Good for them, they are great guys! I am only sorry my job doesn't allow me to catch every Extreme Makeover episode. I've learned so much from them so far that I've decided to contract Phoenix remodeling to help me with a specific remodeling project. I am really excited because I designed myself, I picked a very feminine theme.
Hope you can help me. I remember reading about a family who was given a home makeover and later asked the children they had taken in to leave. I can't remember the family name, could you let me know please.
I’m sorry, but we at Southwest are not familiar with that situation. I haven’t heard of any of the families doing anything like that, but I would check out http://abc.go.com/shows/extreme-makeover-home-edition for more information.
