Customer Appreciation Day - Ft. Lauderdale Style
Customer Appreciation Day - Ft. Lauderdale Style
If you happened to be flying out of Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood (FLL) on a recent Sunday, you might have experienced some Southwest FUN while waiting on your flight. Team FLL spread a little SOUTHWEST SPIRIT as they played games, asked trivia questions, and gave away some great prizes. Provisioning carts were transformed into LUV carts that circulated the gate areas serving donuts
, juice and special chocolates. Sundays are always a crazy busy day in Ft. Lauderdale because of our cruise Customers who return for their flights home, so we thought this would be the perfect day to have a little fun. Many Customers, young and old
, enjoyed having their portrait (on either a Southwest Pilot or Flight Attendant body) sketched by local Caricature Artist, John Burgess. We sure enjoyed sharing some of our SOUTHWEST SPIRIT with everyone.
What is your favorite Southwest FUN story?

This is the worst airline I've ever met. The employees look like under paid. no makeup, no smile. You don't go do the customer appreciation day, just do your job, help those customer who need an extra hand.
That sounds like fun! I would certainly have had my picture sketched on a Flight Attendant body! :) I wish you would do something like that in TUL.
I always have fun flying Southwest, of course, but my fun story is helping serve peanuts & snacks on some of my flights & having my picture taken with the Crews! :) Oh, I have another one, & that would be taking goodies & cards out to my airport for my friends these last two years on Southwest's birthday. I'm looking forward to doing it again!
"Looks like somebody missed snack time."
SWA LUV! :)
Leah,
Time to take out the cards for ding's third birthday.
Ding! boy who is not 3 but has a dinglet who is.
joe!
Do my eyes deceive me, or do I detect the world famous member of the Blog Team, Mr. Jeff Lamb himself, handing out candy? What a significant statement a company makes when members of senior management pitch in to let their customers know how much they are appreciated!
There are many airlines, and indeed, companies in general, where the "higher-ups" never leave the Ivory Tower to mingle with their own employees, much less with the customers who create the revenue that pays their salaries.
Kudos to Southwest Airlines, its own unique Culture, and good ole guys like Jeff, who never forget the value of the Customer to their existence!

External Blog Boy who never grows tired of saying "thank you" to customers :)
Hey Ms. Anna - Great to see you posting. Keep on having fun and spreading the luv! Miss ya,
Shannon
I have always had the utmost confidence, in my personal safety, when flying Southwest. I think your record speaks for it's self. The "revelations" in the media smelled like jealous hype, from the word go.
I am your very serious admirer and traveller. Since my husband & I began travelling 5 years ago we have travelled only SWA...only where SWA flies !
The only time I travelled United was when my sister sent me her frequent flyer miles for Thanksgiving last year...that experience was you know what...! not even worth saying, but I will never fly any other airline again (hopefuly) as long as SWA is available to us.
I have always sworn by the service SWA has given and not to mention the wonderful people on board that we fly with !...It's like being at home safe and happy ! They make our day everytime we fly!
Thanks for the email this morning, does not worry or concern us as we have always trusted SWA and always will. To me it seems like more than one airline is trying to hurt you out of spite...the FAA & the media better start thinking like we do before they say things that might not be all true...no matter what they say, they can never shake our confidence in you.
I do wish and pray that your prosperity will start flying abroad so that we do not have to travel any other airline ever !!
Thanks again and Best Wishes to you all.

I flew to STL last Thursday, the 6th, & am now back home in TUL. All of my flights were great, as well as the service, of course! On the flight to STL, I got to serve snacks again! The FAs were wonderful & I had fun visiting with them. Also, one of them acknowledged me for serving over the PA & called me by name! I also had my picture taken with them, & with two of the FAs coming back from MCI, where I changed planes.
Also, another fun story I have is I got to meet Ops Agent Mary Noel-Hennes today! She's so nice & she gave me some fun things! I had her autograph a boarding pass for me & we had our picture taken together! :)
Thought for the day: Why is it called peanut brittle if it's not brittle?
SWA LUV! :)
