Pickup lines? Yes, Flight Attendants do sometimes hear some good ones. I think I'm correct in saying more are heard on Friday nights than Monday mornings! Also, females hear more than males, although males are not exempt from hearing them.

I surveyed some friends and found a few to share during this Valentine's week:

"Have you ever been arrested? It's illegal to look that good!"

"You have to know CPR because you take my breath away."

"I'm not drunk. I'm just intoxicated by you!"

"Do I know you? That's a shame. I'd sure like to."

"You must be a broom because you just swept me off my feet!"

"I'd like to be in your circle of friends."

"If I borrowed your glasses, could I see you tomorrow night?"

"Does God know you escaped from Heaven?"

"I'm like an American Express card, you shouldn't go home without me!"

"Congratulations, you've just been voted the most beautiful Flight Attendant. I'm your prize!"

"Can I buy you a drink or do you just want the money?"

"You're so beautiful you made me forget my pickup line!"

I don't know if any of these really worked, but share some lines you have either heard or used. Tell us whether or not you "fell under the spell" of some of these Romeos.

I started officially dating my future husband around this time last year. There is a catch phrase in the Airlines Industry (Southwest, especially)

"Marry me, and fly free..."

One evening while out with a bunch of friends, I jokingly said I wanted to buy the shirt that says this. I wasn't dating my future husband at the time, but his pick up line went like this...

"I already fly free!!!"

And believe it or not, we are getting married in less than 3 weeks! So, I guess that pick up line worked on me.

I don't think his lines will do it for him. (because he's sincere)
Here's an idea.
How about finding him a SWA LUV connection?
You've been on the interview team... you are good at
judging character and personality! Should we dare challenge you to find a LUV match for Francisco?
He's such a good guy, kind and thoughtful!
On Valentines Day... why don't you have a contest. You pick the winner that you feel would be compatable with Francisco.
You never know, then maybe next Valentines Day...

Your a hoot! I want to be a Flight Attendent too! I just turned turned 43 but (because of a little Indian in me and because of lots of skincare and sunblock I look 30's so I've been told alot) Praise the Lord lets keep it that way!!! Also, one of the best things I have ever used is Evian water in a tall stainless steel can, (get at Nordies) I have used this for over 20 yrs and it sure has paid off!!! I too received my letter to come to the group interview 19 yrs ago. My dad at the time said (You can't do that ,that's not for a married woman) well, yes, I listened and have regretted ever since. I can and will (hopefully) finally get to do this. Blessings T

Actually, the great Hank Williams had one of the best pickup lines that I have ever heard:

"Say Hey, good lookin' watch ya got cookin? How's a bout cookin somethin up with me?"

Observation for the day: The word "believe(r)" has the word "lie" in it.

I recently read an article on CNN's home page called "Too pretty to fly." The story of two young females and how they were discriminated against on what appeared to be a Southwest Airline flight. After reading this article, I was aggrivated that CNN would put this info over the internet. I hope you get a chance to read the article, but to make it short, One says she was denied water and the other says she was the only one questioned over an argument with another passenger over use of the restroom. I was not on the flight, but my personal opinion is that these were two egotistical little brats, who thought in their own mind, they were "good" looking probably were the cause of their own problems. Their own description of themselves pretty much indicates they thought they were quite sold on themselves and everyone else was substandard to them. According to the article, they were turned over to police at LAX and detained for a short time for their actions aboard the flight. I'll bet an interview with some passengers on the flight would substantially eliminate these two crackpots claims.

I have flown Southwest before, and my trip was outstanding. The service was great and the flight attendants were professional and helpful.

I tried to respond to CNN with my thoughts, but unfortunately there is no way to contact CNN over the internet.

I use to know someone who was a flight attendant and she mentioned that you have to know someone within the company to be able to get into the program.
