Hey you show the sixty dollar flights for mco to sdf but then in Dec. you double the price !!! Hey I can fly Aleagence into Lexington from Sandford, Fl... Sorry you are losing my business.. I really would have purchased two roundtrips for sixty in Dec..
What a rip off!! I booked early for a flight from Nashville to Jacksonville and return and then you drop the fares more than half. thanks a lot. Everyone on the airplane will be flying cheap except me. never book early with Southwest or you will be big loser.
Mr. Reed,
Good news in that you haven't lost the money you spent on the higher fare. Unlike the other guys who lower their fares, the difference on SW can be used toward other SW flights for up to a year after purchase. Here is how to do it this is from our greeting script on the number to make a reservations:
"If you’ve already booked your travel online and you’re calling to get a lower fare due to a southwest.com fare sale, did you know you can receive the lower fare you’ve found by visiting southwest.com? You can re-fare your itinerary yourself online by following a few simple steps.
Simply visit the Travel Tools link at southwest.com and select the Change Air reservation link.
You’ll need to enter your Confirmation Number and the name of the Passenger traveling.
From that point, your current itinerary will display. Select the box next to the flight segment or segments where you have found a lower fare. Then you’ll select Change Selected Trips. Southwest.com will then display your scheduled date or dates of travel and your original city pairs. You don’t need to change anything on this screen. Just select Go to Next Step Select New Flight.
On the Select Flight screen you will want to select the same flight or flights that you are originally booked on. If a lower fare is available, it will display on this screen. After you’ve selected the flight or flights for which you want to receive a lower fare, select Go To Next Step New Price.
On the pricing page, make sure to verify your flight and travel dates are what you want them to be. If a lower fare was available, the difference in fare will display here. Once everything is correct, select Go To Next Step Reconcile. This step will confirm the fare change you initiated.
While you won’t be eligible for a refund of the fare difference, unless you were booked on a refundable fare, the difference in the amount paid for your original fare and the lower fare will be saved as a credit under your confirmation number. This credit will be good for travel on a future Southwest Airlines flight. Remember, travel credit is good from the original date of your purchase, and all Southwest Airlines fare rules apply."
It's a lot easier than it sounds.
Negative comments? This is AWESOME! Thank you SWA! I've been planning a trip to NYC. When I went two years ago, I paid $500+ round trip. Now, thanks to LGA and this 48 hour deal, I'll have enough money to pay for a hotel and WON'T have to fly another airline! Thanks for being one of the best companies around!
Great fares but from Love Field to Albany, NY for the 3 different dates I plugged in, you have 2 stops and an all-day travel so you lose one full day just traveling!! Not worth it!
Tim - the name of the airline is Allegiant. They do fly between Sanford (Orlando) and Louisville. (nearest cities are Knoxville, Owensboro, and Lexington).
They will charge you up to $35 per piece of checked luggage.
They will charge you a $14 "convergence" fee for booking on line. If you have the nerve to call them to book a flight it will be the $14 PLUS $10 per segment. In other words, they are charging you for the privilege of giving them money. (You can avoid this fee by going to airport and buying the ticket).
As much as I'm getting tired of flying 737s, I will always remain a loyal Southwest passenger because I like the ability to be able to use ALL of my money in case I have to change my plans when I have a non-refundable ticket. I saw the fares for one airline between OAK and LGB. The fare was $49 non-refundable. The change fee was $45! On Southwest the change fee would be $0.
According to citycomparator.com, HOU to ABQ is 724 miles, so the tickets should be $60 one way right?
I LOVE the fact that SWA give you a credit for the difference if a lower fare pops up before your flight. I was a big traveler (more than a 1.5M miles) on another airline that would never think of doing that! I fly SWA now whenever I can!!
Thank you for your great customer service!!
Hi Alex, we use the Web Flyer site to set our mileage for fares, and it shows that the Albuquerque to Houston Hobby distance is 758 miles, which makes it a $90 route for the fare sale. (I found several other sites pegging the mileage at 754 or 755.) Here is the link to the site we used: http://www.webflyer.com/travel/milemarker/getmileage.php?city=abq&city=h...
