As you know, the Employees of AirTran and Southwest Airlines have HUGE hearts and are committed to building meaningful relationships in the communities we serve. And, the Atlanta, Georgia area is no exception. One example of that commitment was clearly illustrated recently when folks from AirTran and the Southwest Airlines People Department came together to celebrate our first ever Servant’s Heart Day in support of a local nonprofit organization called “Operation HomeFront”at the AirTran Atlanta Corporate Center last Thursday.
This program provides emergency assistance for our troops and for the families they leave behind. With that, our Team came together for a FUN-filled day to support the “Back to School Brigade” by collecting school supplies, cash donations, and backpacks. At the end of the day, we were able to donate a total of 1,000 backpacks full of school supplies for local military children in need.
We could not have done this without the support of many folks, including the AirTran ATL Customer Service Department, Inflight Department, Reservations Department, Wings Financial, Marketing, MKE Station and the local ATL People Department. Wow, what a way to demonstrate our One LUV as the hometown carrier that cares!
