Southwest Stars

Mar 02 2010

Did you know all of the Employees featured in Southwest commercials are actual Employees?

We don't use actors to do the job of what we know best.  When we need Employees for a commercial, we put out a casting call asking for the best, brightest, and most energetic Southwest Airlines has to offer.  And, our Employees ALWAYS deliver. With over 1,200 applications and 200 Employees auditioned, this was a huge undertaking we are so proud to share with you.

What a tremendous experience!  Our hat’s off to everyone who let it all hang out at the auditions.  We always thought we had the best Employees in the industry, but we were even surprised at just how amazing it was to work with them through this process.  We met so many wonderful people as they waited for their turns, and all of them had such passion for the Company, we were in awe.  We were all humbled by the fact that it takes so many people to run an airline; we had such a great representation of Employees with so many different job descriptions that it was a great opportunity to learn from one another.  By the end of the three casting days spent in Houston, we can honestly say we made some great friends from all across the country.

The Directors asked them to do everything but stand on their head.  They sang, they danced, they played air guitar, and above all, they were themselves. All our Employees lay it out there for the Customer on a daily basis, and this group of Employees raised the bar for everyone else moving forward.  It was a lot of fun and we cannot wait for you to see the new commercials – coming SOON!

Southwest is the very best. But then what else would one expect from a Texas airline. friendliness is their middle name and there is no happier crew to serve you than these folks. If you can't be happy with their service then you are one of those individuals who go round being sour at the world......

I think SWA commercials are the best--and I think it's great you use employees to present them. Thanks

I think this is awesome that you use your own employees in your commercials. Now when I watch the commercials, I will know that the Southwest brand is true and the emotions the people are feeling are genuine to their actual jobs.
