The Luckiest Girl in the Whole World
The Luckiest Girl in the Whole World
My friend once told me that I could find a book to answer any question I had ... and I think she's right! My name is Bev B. and I am a Southwest Employee at our University for People, a self-proclaimed bookworm, and a lifelong learner. And, I think I just might be the luckiest girl in the whole world. Allow me to explain why ....
For many years, I have been a firm believer that self-awareness and personal growth are the keys to happiness. In fact, I do believe that I can find a book to answer any question. My bookshelves at home are full of books on just about any subject you can imagine. So, during the past six years that I have been employed at Southwest Airlines, my goal has been to work for the University for People. The University is our Leadership, Personal and Professional Development, and Learning Department. Last year, this dream became a reality when I was hired as an Instructional Designer at the University.
I research, design, and develop Leadership, Personal and Professional, and other soft skills training classes for Southwest. Now, it is my job to do what I was already doing ... reading Leadership and Development books, researching new learning opportunities, and growing. The only difference is that I get to share my passion with other Southwest Employees and make a difference in the lives of other lifelong learners. Yep, I think I just might be the luckiest girl in the whole world!

You are amazing and my hero! I love you! And I'm so proud of you for accomplishing your goal!
No, Bev, WE are the lucky ones who get to work with you every single day!! Thanks for the smiles and sunshine you bring to the University!
I think WE are the luckiest for getting YOU!!!!
BB, you forgot to mention that you are beautiful, kind, smart, and the brightest ray of sunshine in our department!!! LUV ya BB! Thanks for representing! -Lu
If you are the "luckiest girl in the world", then we are the most "blessed parents" in the whole wide world. We are SO proud of and for you. You go girl!! Love you. Mom & Dad
I remember the first time I saw you; I could not get over how amazing you looked with your beautiful blue eyes, blond hair, perfect teeth and most impressive smile. I knew that instant you were something special and probably too good for me. But we kept having "chance" meetings at work and got to know one another just enough for me to work up the courage to ask you out.
It was the perfect date, great food and atmosphere and the connection. Oh the connection, I really thought you were just telling me what I wanted to hear. But it is difficult to hold a charade for 6 hours of intense conversation. The next day I called my family and told them I had found the woman I was going to marry. Less that a year later we married at the courthouse so I could use the flight benefits to fly with you to Chicago on your way to Japan without me. I never felt any doubts, never any fear or regrets I just knew it was what I wanted and need more than anything else in my life. I feel blessed everyday to be with you, and the company you have the privilege to work for. How you have made my life that was so empty into something so wonderful and rich is a blessing. I LUV You!!
