David Evans Jr. David Evans Jr.

David is an Dallas-based Captain in his 11th year of flying with Southwest Airlines. His love of flying goes back to his childhood; he started flying at the age of 15! He has flown for individuals, corporations, charter carriers and domestic and international airlines. He attended college in New Hampshire and Louisiana, studing Aviation and Business and holds a BS in Professional Aviation. He is married with a college-age son (who blogs professionally for an AOL subsidiary). As you can see from the photo David enjoys the outdoors when he is not flying.

  Hotel California...and Nevada and Alabama and...

  I ran across an interesting statistic the other day that I want to share with you. I have mentioned in past posts that I have spent as many as 211 nights in hotel rooms in a single year. Since I am now based in the city where I live, I average about 13 nights a month in someone else's bed (probably should have rephrased that).

While pursuing my passion, I get to fly a really cool aircraft, work for an awesome Company, and support my family. And while I am enjoying myself, I am part of an organization which provides the Freedom of Fly to millions of our Customers.

  A Grand Hotel On Wheels

  Listen up all of you train buffs (that includes fellow blogger Brian "Candy Corn" Lusk), I had the opportunity to stay at a wonderful hotel that is outfitted especially for you. The Crowne Plaza Hotel at Historic Union Station in Indianapolis, Indiana (IND) has 26 suites that are located within 13 real Pullman sleeper cars.
