One of the many mottos here at Southwest Airlines is "work hard, play hard."  As a member of the Culture Activities Team, our main responsibilty is making sure our Employees have a great time while at work and feel appreciated.

I've been with Southwest just shy of two years.  I started as an Intern in the Public Relations Department and was given the opportunity to start my career with the Culture Activities Team as their Administrative Assistant.  Now, being the CA Writing Rep, I get the best of both worlds.  I'm given the chance to implement various events while having the responsibility to communicate numerous messages via a number of different publications.

Being from Michigan, I now call Texas my home.  I feel so lucky to be a part of the Southwest Family.

  The LUV Behind the Bell

It’s been said the inscription on the Liberty Bell conveys a message of liberty which goes beyond the words themselves.  Here at Southwest Airlines, we are lucky to say we, too, have a Liberty Bell, which displays the names of our Founders, historical milestones, and a lot of LUV.

  Say Hello to Uncle Sam!

We work hard at Southwest Airlines, making sure our Customers are entertained and continue to come back to Southwest for all of their traveling needs.  We want to make sure that our Customers are continually impressed by the lengths we go to make them feel appreciated and LUVed.

  It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s…Is that Southwest Airlines?!

An exciting and important event took place this weekend: Southwest Airlines flew to LaGuardia Airport (LGA), beginning our service to the “city that never sleeps”.  No longer will the clouds over New York City be deprived of our Red Bellied Beauties!

  Mardi Gras With the Locals!

Never had I imagined attending an “official” Mardi Gras in New Orleans would be in my near future; (insert favorite horror story here).  My parents would shudder at the thought of their youngest daughter on the streets of Bourbon during one of the craziest festivals known worldwide.
