It’s been said the inscription on the Liberty Bell conveys a message of liberty which goes beyond the words themselves.  Here at Southwest Airlines, we are lucky to say we, too, have a Liberty Bell, which displays the names of our Founders, historical milestones, and a lot of LUV.

Growing up an Air Force brat and the proud son of a Vietnam Vet, Independence Day was always a big deal. Granted, when you lived on a military base, every day was like a mini Fourth of July. Every morning at dawn, the honor guard raised the large American flag up the large flagpole in the middle of base.

We work hard at Southwest Airlines, making sure our Customers are entertained and continue to come back to Southwest for all of their traveling needs.  We want to make sure that our Customers are continually impressed by the lengths we go to make them feel appreciated and LUVed.
 

What comes to mind when you think of Independence Day?  The first things that come to my mind are fireworks, parades, and picnics, just to name a few!  After I think about all of the FUN stuff that goes along with the day, then I think about the true meaning of the holiday.  The Fourth of July is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 177

I love the fact that I work for a Company that gives people the Freedom to Fly.  This Independence Day, we will be giving one lucky contest winner the Freedom to Fly for the first time ever at the young age of 51!    I've had so much fun helping Judy Vincent, our Music City July 4 Flyaway contest winner, plan her trip to Nashville.   Judy will be jetting off to Nashville from New Orlean
