I flew out to LA to plant trees, and I feel so cool every time I say that. Being an Intern at Southwest really does give me the Freedom to Fly, and not just for my own sightseeing and FUN. SWA gives me a chance to help others, like helping the entire city of Los Angeles in an initiative called: One Million Trees LA.
 

I always imagined myself leaping into the corporate world with my shiny new college degree in tow, while climbing the proverbial ladder and becoming someone amazing. I hadn’t quite decided on an industry, where the ladder was, or how high it reached, but I knew I’d climb somewhere pretty high.

Before I began my Internship at Southwest Airlines, I had a preconceived notion that I would be fine-tuning my filing skills, perfecting my ability to make a good cup of coffee and mastering the art of ordering lunch by phone.

Boy, was I wrong.

I’m never prepared for this.  Three times a year, I find myself dealing with some really strange feelings—those darn “goodbye” emotions that I am just terrible at.
