An exciting and important event took place this weekend: Southwest Airlines flew to LaGuardia Airport (LGA), beginning our service to the “city that never sleeps”.  No longer will the clouds over New York City be deprived of our Red Bellied Beauties!

On June 28, 2009, Southwest Airlines began service to its 66th wonderful destination...New York City!

This wasn’t my first time in New York City, nor was it my second.  But it was definitely my first time to experience a Southwest city opening, and my first time to head up a Share the Spirit volunteer effort in a city we’ve so quickly grown to LUV.
