I would like to elaborate on a post I wrote for the blog a couple of years ago titled “Forget Me Not…” It was about recognizing Aircraft Maintenance Technicians during the month of May, in honor of the first aircraft mechanic, Charles E.

Many of you may remember me writing about my son, the Officer, here on the blog.  My super-sized 24-year-old son, with an even larger heart, is a police officer in the beautiful East Texas town of Jefferson.  Last week, a series of events really brought home two facts for me—one that I forget far too often, and one that I didn’t even know.

I'm that girl you see on your way to work rocking out in my car.  It's seriously the best way to make it through traffic.   So to me, what better way to celebrate our growth in Austin than to rock out with our Customers on the streets of Austin? 

Only rarely in someone's career do they get a chance to be a part of something really big, something that will last.  The new Dallas Love Field project that was proposed to the City this week is one of those opportunities. Fortunately, in my career I've gotten that opportunity many times. 

Southwest Airlines has a remarkably low turnover rate – just around  four  percent, in fact.  Nevertheless, every once in a while I receive a “farewell” e-mail from a Fellow Employee who is either retiring, moving away, leaving the company to pursue an old dream or to take on a new adventure.
