traveled to Orlando last Thursday to attend what Southwest Airlines calls the
"Message to the Field." Each year, our CEO Gary Kelly travels across the
country delivering his "State of the Company" address to Employees at
Message to the Field events in numerous cities. Herb started these years ago,
and the tradition has held.

Red Belly Radio is the podcast about Southwest Airlines and in this first episode, I review my career at Southwest and interview Paula Berg who helped manage this new blog project and talk to Chris Ronan from RD2 who helped make it all happen.

Helping the OKC Survivors Regain Hope

On the television, I watched a live feed of first responders in Moore, Oklahoma, desperately search for children trapped in the ruins of Plaza Towers Elementary School. As night set in, there wasn't a lot of hope to go around. Several children and adults were confirmed dead, with many others still missing.

All Hands Volunteers and Southwest Help Rebuild Moore, OK

With only a few hours notice, the All Hands Volunteers Launch Team boarded flights aimed for Texas thanks to Southwest Airlines’ donation. Devastating tornadoes leveled the Rancho Brazos community in Granbury, Texas, and All Hands partnered with Habitat For Humanity to organize a rapid response cleanup of the affected area.
