Is there a BlackBerry application in the works. As a work traveler I can still attest that most of us are using the BlackBerry platform.
So....when will you have a simiar application on the Android platform?
Hey Angela and Dan,
We have big plans for 2010 and hope to have apps for other mobile devices as well. For now, we'd suggest visiting our mobile.southwest.com site and please, stay tuned!
Hi!
I downloaded the new App into my itouch and love it! However, in the commercial it shows that it will also locate places to eat in the airport- my app does not have that feature- why not?
As a frequent traveler and proud Rapid Rewards member, I know that I can always count on Southwest to deliver the best value and allow me to escape the Phoenix area for quick weekend trips. In order to make sure that I am getting the best deal I have come to love the Ding! application. Desktop, iPhone, telepathy (jk) you name it and I have tried to get Ding! installed. The other morning I woke up late to work (as usual), checked my Ding! fares for the day and headed off to work confident that I would be able to purchase the fares I looked at earlier, however using my employer's salary cost to obtain said fares. As I frequently travel on SW I have several credits stacked up from previously purchased flights that I was interested in using, however I quickly noticed the iPhone Ding! application will only allow you to purchase fares using a credit card, not previously issued SW credits. As I am unable to install the Ding! application on my work computer, I immediately called customer service and asked if there was any way to obtain the pricing on 1 one way ticket that would have saved me $15 (x2 as I wanted to book two flights). The representative paused for a minute, checked with a supervisor and came back saying that unfortunately I was out of luck and would have to purchase the best available fare online when I arrived home. I would really appreciate a mobile Ding! site, or something that allows customers who cannot have access to the Ding! application all day to be able to take advantage of their targeted offers anywhere. Instead I have opted not to purchase the tickets yet, and wait and see if another Ding! offer comes along for the same dates and routes as was previously available. Not exactly the best way to ensure your customers are booking the flights they want and ideally spending their money at your business.
Please provide a Ding for Blackberry!
I second that - Please make a DING app for Blackberry!!!
Just chiming in to add my vote for a DING app for Blackberry soon! Please and Thank you.
Kudos on the app intro, but add me to the list of folks who need SWA to keep going! Android, Blackberry most definitely need an app - especially important for the bulk of your passengers who are business travelers. Bring it on please!
Need a BlackBerry app....you know how many millions of business flyers have BlackBerrys? ALL OF THEM!!!
I'm actually pretty disappointed that the team at Southwest didn't know that the majority of their Business Flyers have blackberries! I would have thought that they would have released a blackberry APP at the same time or at least close after the iphone APP. Please develop a blackberry APP for DING!!!!
Does SWA have any plans for an APP for Android Phone's?
I could REALLY use an app for my Andriod type phone...So could my co-workers.

Is the Android app available?
There are more Android phones than iphones as well as more blackberry phones than iphones. Please don't limit your reach to just one carrier and 1 kind of phone.
Android Please!!!
So many of us love our open-source Android phones. Plus, you're missing a huge segment here--there are many more Android users than iPhone users.
The iPhone/Touch app is great (I have a Touch) but I would really love an Android app. Come on guys, get on board with the best and hottest phone operating system!

I am a big Southwest fan and RR member who now owns the LG ALLY - an ANDROID phone! When will the app for this come out? I am in the middle of a round-trip of flights (go home tomorrow to Dallas Love) and I would love to have an app that would keep me informed!
+1 (Andoid app)
NEED Android App - will be way more android devices in use than iphone in less than a year if not already.
Where is the Android app? I travel a lot and would like the app. At this point in time I cannot believe one has not been released.
Another one who cant believe there is not a Ding app for Android.
Another request for Android please!
I fail to understand why its so hard to get an app for Blackberry.....why? Surely you can hire a consultant to write a few lines of code for you!

Android please! I've tossed my iphone and travel on Southwest about 4 times a month.
ANDROID! My office has blocked all executable files from our server, so I can no longer get Ding updates during the hours I can actually purchase them. I really need this service on my Android phone ASAP!
Another vote for Blackberry! It is overdue. Please, please, please...

Still no BB app for Ding? How disappointing. Please make one.
Southwest wrote on 1/28/10 to stay tuned for apps for other devices. That was 9 months ago; if no app, how about at least giving us an update? What do you say Southwest?
