Southwest Airlines celebrates being part of the most legendary Black College Football event.
Dallas – Nov. 24, 2008 – The legendary rivalry between Grambling State University and Southern University is showcased at the State Farm Bayou Classic, and Southwest Airlines is celebrating as the Classic’s official airline. This powerful “Clash of the Titans” will determine the best team Black College football at the Louisiana Superdome, November 29.
“Southwest Airlines is proud of the sportsmanship demonstrated in this legendary game,” said Jena Atchison, Southwest Airlines manager of segment marketing. “As the top airline in the United States, we are committed to excellence; and the State Farm Bayou Classic is an outstanding demonstration of high standards from the best of Black College football.”
Southwest Airlines has partnered with the Bickerstaff Group for the last eight years as part of our commitment to historically black colleges and universities. The airline has also supported civic organizations such as the National Association of Colored People (NAACP), Urban League and the National Black Chamber of Commerce as part of its dedication to the African American communities.

NWA is the worst for customer service and the best for rude employees. Absolutely poor personalities placed behind desks that make things 10 times worse.
Why does Southwest Airlines unload its passengers in less than 3 minutes from parking at the gate while it has become a habit to sit or stand inside the plane for close to 20 minutes and sometimes more to wait for either: A gate guide, A gate operator or sometimes park a mile away to wait for an open gate?
Learn from Southwest, they have a smile on their face all the time even when things are hectic, they load and unload people in a graceful manner with no insults or arguments. They don't refer you to the ticket counter outside the secure area just to add your PERKS like NWA does!
Given the choice, I'll never fly NWA again... simply had enough
