Wed, 06/21/2006 - 07:39 — Gary Kelly
I’m new to this whole blogosphere thing but I have really enjoyed
reading all of the comments and am humbled that so many people are as
enthusiastic and nuts about Southwest as we are.
Flag Day, Old Glory, and Southwest Airlines
Mon, 06/12/2006 - 08:00 — Brian LuskLike many of you, Southwest is proud to fly the colors of our great nation, and Flag Day on June 14 is a way for all Americans to reflect on the importance of this symbol of our national values. Each and every day, all 455 of our aircraft take to the sky proudly wearing Old Glory on their fins, but oddly enough, our aircraft didn't always wear the national flag.
Getting Ready for the 2006 Hurricane Season
Wed, 05/24/2006 - 10:15 — Fred TaylorThe hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005 have left some nasty scars on the memories of Southwest Airlines Employees and Customers - not to mention on those ravaged areas of our country.
HERB WAS HERE
Thu, 05/18/2006 - 08:19 — Gordon GuilloryHerbert D. Kelleher arrived in the Dallas Maintenance hanger last week for a scheduled eight-year overhaul, Although Herb looked the same as he did the day he started working for Southwest Airlines, he still needed a little work done. We began by removing items from him, and then we took him out to the washing area to clean him up. We then put him though a routine inspection.
The Tail Number Game
Mon, 05/15/2006 - 07:49 — Brian LuskAirplanes are like cars, each one has a specific and unique license plate number, but on aircraft the number is painted on the aircraft, usually near the tail. (Hence, the term "tail number.") Each country has a registration prefix set aside for their exclusive use.
