By now you have probably seen posts about who won the Heroes of the Heart for this year. Every Valentine’s day, for 17 years, since 1992, Southwest Airlines has announced the winner of the Heroes of the Heart award. Our Culture Committee and Colleen started this as a special tribute to a behind-the-scenes star workgroup that does not have direct Customer Contact.

You all know that Southwest is the “LUV Airline”, and every year on Valentine’s Day, we really earn that title. All Employees are encouraged to wear red or pink, many flowers are delivered to our locations, candy is free flowing, and one of our biggest SWA traditions takes place at Headquarters: Heroes of the Heart.
