At 50 years of age I'm in college full time earning my first undergraduate degree. Upon completion, I plan to pursue a masters degree in Public Health Advocacy. I am a a mother of 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren (my 7 year old granddaughter, 4 year old twin boys, and Castiel Jeremy Michalson arrived December 1, 2012!). I was diagnosed with Lupus at age 42. As a public health advocate, I want to help others live with lupus, instead of lupus being all of their life.

Favorite Southwest Moment

I've lived in Santa Fe since 2010, attending St. John's College. Unfortunately, due to the adverse affects the high altitude has on my Lupus, I'm moving back to the California Bay area. A stroke at the end of my sophomore year found me hospitalized in Vallejo, CA in May. Southwest was kind enough to change my flight, from OAK to BWI, to non-stop. I cried at the level of compassion displayed. Southwest is the only way I'm flying.
