Peanut Eating Styles

Jan 05 2012
Something I’ve always noticed when flying is the various ways people choose to eat our famous onboard snack… peanuts.  Beginning this week, we’ll start the rotation back to Lightly Salted Peanuts (we rotate from Honey Roasted to Lightly Salted every few months) so I thought it would be prime time to ask our fans online their different peanut-eating styles.  Personally, I prefer the... read more

Nov 02 2012
In the early days, Southwest Airlines created more iconic images than an upstart carrier with just three airplanes should have generated.  I don’t think anyone ever said:  “Today, we’re going to make an icon.”  It just happened naturally.  Some of those images include the early television advertisement where a model dressed in our first Flight Attendant uniform strolls down a... read more

Oshkosh AirVenture Plane of the Day: P-3 Orion

Jul 26 2011
Warbirds. NASA geographical research planes. Experimental Cessnas.  Not my usual vernacular. Yes, I work for an airline, and I've become increasingly interested in aviation.  But at Oshkosh, I don't even qualify as a novice.  I'm practically in the womb--I know nothing.  I'm a guppie swimming with the dolphins: insignificant and infinitely less intelligent than my... read more
