Joey Reynolds

I caught the Travel Bug at an early age. As a youngster born in the “Witch Town” of Salem, MA, I was no stranger to traveling and moving. By high school I had already resided in over 30 different houses and attended 7 schools. Little did I know that I was being primed to spend my life on the road! Today, having logged over several million miles by land, sea and air I’m still infected with the bug! Directly out of high school I began a life changing tour as a dancer with Up With People only to end up on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean studying Advertising at Hawaii Pacific University. Shortly after I began an internship with Disney that would bring to Orlando for several years where a very good friend of mine pushed me into the greatest career choice of my life, as a Flight Attendant for Southwest. After five amazing years of flying around the country I discovered a beautiful woman named Julie whom is now my wife and also a fellow Flight Attendant. As current resident of Phoenix I now consider myself a Life Enthusiast with a Passion for People and Culture!

Fun Facts

Languages

English is my primary language but with a little liquid courage my Spanish is not too bad.

Hobbies

Music is a passion of mine! Unfortunately for those around me I was not blessed with a beautiful voice, but that doesn’t stop me from putting on quite a concert in the car and shower! Other interests of mine include Dancing, Skiing/Snowboarding, Watersports, Eating, Fine Wine, Traveling, and being in Pictures!

Family

On 10.23.10 I recently married the most amazing person I have ever known, Julie Reynolds. As of right now the only kids we have are our Yorkie named Muffin and a few house plants… which I think may need some water!!! Along with a Sister in New Hampshire, I also have the closest family of friends anyone could ever ask for.

Pets

Muffin the Amazingly Itchy Yorkie! (Cutest dog in the World!)

High School

Winnacunnet High School… Yeah, Say that one 3 times fast!

College

Hawaii Pacific University – I majored in being Beach Bum.

Favorite Sports Teams

I’m not an avid follower of Pro Sports but when I do watch I have to say I love my Boston Teams! Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins & Pats!

Favorite Travel Destinations

The World is filled with so many alluring places that it is hard to narrow it down to just a few! Paris, a city filled with history and beauty is a romantic place that everyone must visit at least once. Australia is also a wonderful place to see with charming people and beautiful scenery!

Your Favorite Southwest Story

One of my favorite Southwest Stories took place in Orlando in 2009. Every year the company hosts a meeting called Message To The Field where all of the company leaders come out and discuss with the employees the current state of the companies finances and future. Well that year the meeting was hosted by Sea World one of our business partners and they gave us the most amazing experience. They let us bring family and friends to their amusement park for the day. Then had a reception with hor d’oeuvres and the Sea World Penguins that you could pet. Following our company meeting they gave us all Shamu blankets and did a spectacular private Shamu Show followed by all the cake you could eat and fireworks! You can bet I have not missed that meeting since!

Flying on a Full Stomach - Top 10 Airport Eateries

Mar 10 2011
During a long day of travel it is inevitable that hunger will strike. On a road trip it is always best to eat where the truckers dine. After all, they are the ones who spend every arduous day driving the highways of America. Similarly in our Southwest Airports, who better to ask for food advice than the people who are constantly seeking sustenance on the fly all across the country--the Flight... read more

“It’s expensive.”  “I’m frustrated.”  “It’s not fair.”  It wouldn’t be uncommon to hear these things said from the Upstate South Carolina community when considering driving to their local airport only minutes away at Greenville-Spartanburg International airport.  Not anymore.  This Sunday, LUV is heading to the Palmetto State to launch our new service to the Upstate with... read more

Piloting the System

Mar 09 2011
During my commute to and from work, the question that I am most often asked is “what is your schedule like?”  It’s a great question and there is much more behind the answer than you might think. While my particular schedule is usually trips that take me away from my Oakland base for three or four days during the week, Southwest has pilot trips that last anywhere from one day to four... read more
