This may be a stupid question, but when they have to overhaul the engine, do they take the engine off the plane?
Not a silly question at all, Rob. Yes, the engines are removed from the aircraft for overhaul and from time to time for other maintenance procedures. This doesn't keep the plane on the ground long, though, as a new (or newly overhauled) engine is usually standing by.
